The paper focuses on different approaches to the category of responsibility and the resulting differences in ontologies of education. The otology based on the juridical responsibility has a preference for obedience as a measure of “good upbringing”, whereas the ontology founded on responsibility understood in terms of solidarity leans towards the necessity of cooperation between responsible individuals, as well as towards the necessity of broadening the scope of responsibility.

Tekst koncentruje się wokół odmiennych ujęć kategorii odpowiedzialności i wynikających z nich odmiennych ontologii wychowania. Ontologia oparta na odpowiedzialności jurydycznej preferuje posłuszeństwo jako miarę „dobrego wychowania”. Natomiast ontologia oparta na odpowiedzialności solidarnej wskazuje na konieczność współdziałanie odpowiedzialnych jednostek i zarazem konieczność poszerzenia pola odpowiedzialności.

In this paper, I focus on one of the children’s rights, which Janusz Korczak raised in his writings, namely the child’s right to the present day, which I understand as a postulate to appreciate the dignity of a child in its everyday life. My aim in this paper is, therefore, not only to reconstruct and uncover the complexities of this postulate, but also to theoretically embed this concept in pedagogical narratives about the child, and more specifically in anthropology of education and upbringing. In order to achieve this aim, 1. I will describe two paths in thinking about the relationship between human beings and their culture, taking into account especially its temporal dimension. Then I will proceed to 2. the concept of children’s rights in Korczak’s understanding of the child subjectivity; in order to indicate 3. the radical and ethical character of message his thinking.

The purpose of the paper is to identify and analyse problems reported by non-religious parents. These parents are subjects of the education process whose children attend Polish educational (usually public) institutions, in which religion is one of the elements of the curriculum. The study is guided by the assumption that such a situation may lead to various tensions and conflicts, the expression of which can be found on the Internet as a space for communication and search for solutions. The research presented in this paper is of an exploratory nature. It includes content analysis of posts posted on one of the Facebook social networking groups. Analysed statements of non-religious parents indicate that pre-schools and primary schools are to a large extent institutions strongly connected with declared religious values, which also leads to a negative perception of non-religious parents and their children.

The paper situates the thought of Jean Jacques Rousseau in the context of the 17th and 18th century social and political debate on the possibility of creating a better society, which intensified with the crisis of feudal system and early modern discovery of the Other. The paper also discusses consequences of this debate for shaping anthropology as a field of knowledge and understanding culture of the time. The idea of a “noble savage” according to which non-Europeans, i.e., the “primitive” people living in the state of nature as free and equal, without concerns and inconveniences of civilization, is contrasted with an opposite project of a “degenerate savage” of Thomas Hobbes, who used it as a justification for absolute monarchy in European countries and of European societies over non-Western ones.
