The feature space structuring methods play a very important role in finding information in large image databases. They organize indexed images in order to facilitate, accelerate and improve the results of further retrieval. Clustering, one kind of feature space structuring, may organize the dataset into groups of similar objects without prior knowledge (unsupervised clustering) or with a limited amount of prior knowledge (semi-supervised clustering). In this paper, we present both formal and experimental comparisons of different unsupervised clustering methods for structuring large image databases. We use different image databases of increasing sizes (Wang, PascalVoc2006, Caltech101, Corel30k) to study the scalability of the different approaches. Then, we present a new interactive semi-supervised clustering model, which allows users to provide feedback in order to improve the clustering results according to their wishes. Moreover,we also compare, experimentally, our proposed model with the semi-supervised HMRF-kmeans clustering method.

In this article we propose a general framework incorporating semantic indexing and search of texts within scientific document repositories. In our approach, a semantic interpreter, which can be seen as a tool for automatic tagging of textual data, is interactively updated based on feedback from the users, in order to improve quality of the tags that it produces. In our experiments, we index our document corpus using the Explicit Semantic Analysis (ESA) method. In this algorithm, an external knowledge base is used to measure relatedness between words and concepts, and those assessments are utilized to assign meaningful concepts to given texts. In the paper, we explain how the weights expressing relations between particular words and concepts can be improved by interaction with users or by employment of expert knowledge. We also present some results of experiments on a document corpus acquired from the PubMed Central repository to show feasibility of our approach.

The number of articles, books, and film documentaries reporting on lessons taught using a multimedia whiteboard is growing year by year. Numerous photographs and recordings show happy faces of children and their teachers. Also, test reports leave no doubt as to the attractiveness of activities supported by this modern media tool. But do all learners approve of learning with an interactive whiteboard? What determines the level of acceptance? I tried to obtain the answer to these questions in the course of research conducted in primary education classrooms as part of grant 495-NP.

In today’s world, the knowledge of employees of the enterprise or company is its strategic resource, so the process of knowledge management and maintaining their relevance is becoming increasingly important. The quarantine restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic necessitated the transfer of vocational and safety training to an online format in search of methods that would bring it as close as possible to the offline format.

The development of intellectual skills of future teachers of mathematics is revealed in the article. The concepts of intelligence and intellectual skills are defined. It is noted that mental operations lie in the basis of intellectual skills. Therefore, intellectual skills is a set of activities and operations on reception, processing and use of information in educational activity. It is asserted that these skills are formed effectively in future teachers of mathematics in interactive teaching. The examples of students’ intellectual skills development during individual work in mastering discipline material of «Practical course of solving non-standard tasks» for the speciality «Mathematics» are given. It is known that this discipline deals with the methods of non-standard tasks solution, the consideration of which is necessary for mastering modern mathematical set with the purpose of its further application in the study of mathematics and carrying out an independent research. It is found out that student’s individual work is a form of mastering educational material beyond compulsory training lessons. The article offers checking students’ individual work to conduct in the form of a conversation between a teacher and students. Interviews can be conducted both individually and collectively. It is known that the activities which provide an individual decision of educational problems causes an active mental work and conversely, activities for mechanical execution, memorization and reproduction lead to passivity. We propose to move away from a traditional survey and to build checking of individual work using interactive technology in the form of presentations of collective projects in the article. The combination of individual and group forms of work with the purpose of ensuring the quality and efficiency control of each student individual work is considered. The author argues that such testing of individual work will assist not only the educational-cognitive activity of students, but also the development of their intellectual abilities.

The article reveals the methodological foundations of psychological-pedagogical training of professional judges in the system of judicial education of Ukraine and Canada. The author, based on the analysis of professional literature, has proved that today there is no real global instrument for standardizing the content of training and selection of professional judges in the judiciary system, which would unite all the participants. This is due to differences in the historical aspect, the structure of the judicial systems of states. The result of the study was the definition of thirteen qualities, which are grouped into three blocks: an understanding of human relationships; mastery of court methods; environmental and managerial analysis. Thus, the transfer of professional techniques and values is the basis of the principles of judicial education. First of all, it is expedient to develop a coherent program in the framework of which it is necessary to form the institutional capacity of the NSJU as the only and the leading scientific and methodological center capable to fully satisfy the needs of judges, among the immediate measures that are a challenge for the present day for the NSJU in the aspect of psychological-pedagogical training of professional judges. In psychological-pedagogical training and improvement of qualification on the basis of the use of modern psychological-pedagogical technologies and techniques. For this purpose, the primary tasks are to improve the system of training candidates for a position of judge, which would provide the judicial system of Ukraine with highly professional specialists with an objectively assessed level of personal and moral qualities that can honestly, impartially and objectively carry out judicial proceedings in the future; extension of the list of psychological and pedagogical disciplines of the NSJU; building an effective model of cooperation between the NSJU and the entire judicial corps, attracting the best and most experienced judges to teaching, having pedagogical skills. Based on the fact that training at the NSJU is carried out by judges and experts in each discipline, it is advisable for the teachers to choose among the best in their profession the body, responsible for training, taking into account the judge’s knowledge of the subjects he teaches, teaching skills and pedagogical skills.Based on the analysis of professional literature, it has been proved that today there is no real global instrument, or any generally accepted international charter, to standardize the content of training and selection of professional judges in the judiciary system, which would unite all the participants. Paradoxically, this situation is not actually the result of a lack of consensus. This is due to differences in the historical aspect, the structure of the judicial systems of states. For example, the French National School of Courts, on the occasion of its last major reform, has developed a definition of a list of the personal and professional qualities of judges. These thirteen qualities can be grouped into three blocks: an understanding of human relationships; mastery of the court methods; environmental and managerial analysis. Thus, the transfer of professional techniques and values is the basis of the principles of judicial education.Instead of this, the European vector of state-building chosen by Ukraine prompts the urgent need for adaptation of Ukrainian legislation in the justice sector to the acquis communautaire of the EU, in particular in regards to the introduction of standards for judicial education as an important component in improving the quality and efficiency of national judiciary system, and increasing public confidence in judiciary system.
