Gender and representing the feminine in legal and administrative texts in Italy – The paper examines the linguistic treatment of the genre (delimiting the concept to ‘female’, ‘woman’) at various levels of legal communication, through the analysis of legal and administrative texts of different kinds produced in Italy in the 20th and 21st centuries (codes, sentences, regulations, etc). The survey focuses on lexical aspects and is supported by lexicographical research.

In the theoretical part of this paper, we propose to draw up a double panorama clarifying, on the one hand, the main linguistic and social issues connected with the feminization of job titles in the French-Polish contrastive perspective, and on the other hand, the data-driven didactic approach favouring the development of lexical and general skills. Secondly, we examine the results of a project adopting this methodology in which the formation of the feminine forms of job titles was analysed by students through lexicographic sources and a text corpus. The results show that lexicographers are not always unanimous about feminine lexemes, and that the language usage reflected in the corpus of texts using contemporary language does not confirm the use of all forms proposed by prestigious institutions and dictionaries. Another advantage of this approach lies in the development of students' autonomy, their capacity for critical analysis and their heuristic skills, which are very important extralinguistic goals in university education.

W artykule na podstawie informacji z lat 1991–2011 weryfikacji poddano następujące hipotezy: 1. z czasem odnotowujemy przestrzenne ujednolicanie się wartości współczynnika feminizacji starości demograficznej; 2. przestrzenny obraz współczynnika feminizacji starości demograficznej nie uległ zmianie w czasie; 3. z czasem przyrosty współczynnika feminizacji starości demograficznej są wyraźniejsze na tych obszarach, gdzie jego wartość była relatywnie wysoka na początku badanego okresu; 4. różne miary opisujące przestrzenną feminizację starości demograficznej prowadzą do podobnych wniosków w ocenie jej przestrzennej konwergencji. Nie wszystkie z postawionych tez zostały potwierdzone.

In the article based on information from the years 1991–2011 the following hypotheses were subjected to the verification: 1. with time, we observe spatial standardizing of coefficient rate of the feminization of the demographic old age; 2. the spatial image of the rate of the feminization of the demographic old age did not undergo the change over time; 3. with time, the increases in the rate of the feminization of the demographic old age are more distinct in these areas, where its value was relatively high at the beginning of the analyzed period; 4. Different measures describing the spatial feminization of the demographic old age are leading to similar conclusions in the evaluation of its spatial convergence. Not all of the put forward theses were confirmed.
