Niniejszy artykuł porusza tematy z zakresu analizy biznesowej, będącej podstawowym elementem funkcjonowania współczesnych organizacji. Celem tej publikacji jest przedstawienie i ocena czterech wybranych narzędzi do modelowania diagramów biznesowych w notacji BPMN. W ramach wprowadzenia do tematu scharakteryzowano procesy biznesowe, zdefiniowano ich analizę, a także przybliżono czytelnikowi notację BPMN i badane narzędzia. Zdefiniowano też metodykę badań i ich przebieg. Następnie przeprowadzone zostały badania zgodnie z przyjętą metodyką. Rezultatem tych prac były wyniki badań razem z analizą. Na koniec podsumowano przeprowadzone pomiary łącznie z wnioskami.

This article discusses topics in the field of business analysis, which is the basic element of the operation of modern organizations. The aim of this publication is to present and evaluate four selected tools for modeling business diagrams in BPMN notation. As part of the introduction to the topic, business processes were characterized, their analysis was defined, and the reader was introduced to the BPMN notation and the tested tools. The research methodology and its course were also defined. Then, the research was carried out in accordance with the adopted methodology. The conclusion of this work was the result of the research together with the analysis. Finally, the conducted experiments were summarized together with conclusions.

Posługując się przykładem poradników przedsiębiorcy, udostępnianych na portalu Punktu Kontaktowego (PK), udowodnili, że notacja BPMN pozwala budować skomplikowane modele procesów, uwzględniających wiele powiązanych ze sobą zadań i informacji. Tworzenie zintegrowanych elektronicznych usług informacyjnych, ciekawych w formie i obszernych w pomocne treści merytoryczne, jest przyszłością współczesnej e-administracji, nie tylko w Polsce, ale i w Europie.

In this article the authors essayed to analyse the research problem, which is the use of Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) to implement integrated electronic information services. Taking as the case the entrepreneur guides available on the Point of Single Contact in Poland, the authors proved that the BPMN facilitates preparing complex model processes comprising a lot of connected tasks and information. Preparing integrated electronic information services, interesting and full of comprehensive helpful substantive contents, is a future for e-government not only in Poland but also in Europe.

The technical infrastructure of the hospital creates conditions for effective and safe leading the process of diagnosing, the treatment and the rehabilitation of patients. At the multitude of both the diversity of medical apparatus, the technical equipment and the necessity for permanent holding and the adaptation of buildings to needs of manufacturing processes of medical services, hospitals permanently employ services for plant maintenance which are gathered in technical department for exploitation. Conducted preliminary examinations from areas of the Silesian province in chosen individuals of the health care showed, that planning and carrying out works and repairs of technical infrastructure of the hospital isn't being assisted by computer tools. From here an identification and a modeling of processes of the use of the technical infrastructure in the hospital organization will be a purpose of the article for the needs of designing the integrated Service Oriented Systems. Developing the example of the system about SOA architecture will constitute the attempt of implementing the model supporting processes of the use of the infrastructure in the hospital organization in accordance with the concept "Facility Management" (FM). FM is a synonym of modern managing building and spatial structures. Exactly systems and information technologies are a factor of integrating FM various areas.

Infrastruktura techniczna szpitala stwarza warunki do efektywnego i bezpiecznego prowadzenia procesu diagnozowania, leczenia i rehabilitacji pacjentów. Przy wielości i różnorodności aparatury medycznej, sprzętu technicznego i potrzebie stałego przystosowywania budynków do potrzeb produkcji usług medycznych, szpitale na stałe zatrudniają służby utrzymania ruchu, które są zgromadzone w działach techniczno - eksploatacyjnych. Przeprowadzone badania wstępne na terenie województwa śląskiego w wybranych jednostkach szpitalnych wykazały, że planowanie i prowadzenie przeglądów i napraw nie jest wspomagane przez narzędzia informatyczne. Stąd celem artykułu będzie identyfikacja i modelowanie procesów eksploatacji infrastruktury technicznej w obiekcie szpitalnym na potrzeby projektowania systemu wspomagającego zorientowanego na usługi. Przedstawienie przykładu systemu opartego na SOA będzie stanowiło próbę implementacji modelu wspomagającego procesy eksploatacji infrastruktury w organizacji szpitalnej zgodnego z koncepcją "Facility Management" (FM). FM jest synonim nowoczesnego zarządzania budynkami i obiektami przestrzennymi. Systemy i technologie informatyczne stanowią czynnik integrujący różne obszary zarządzania obiektami.

Business Rules allow for defining statements that describe some aspects of the business and precise what can be done in a specific situation. Our work concerns the efficient design and verification of the rule bases. In our previous research the HaDEs framework for visual design and verification of the rule bases was developed. This framework provides an on-line verification during integrated hierarchical design process.The main goal of this paper is to propose the HaDEs tools as effectively tool for Business Rules modeling.

Reguły biznesowe pozwalają na zdefiniowanie niektórych aspektów działania przedsiębiorstwa i postępowania w danej sytuacji. Badania mają na celu stworzenie efektywnej metody projektowania i weryfikacji reguł biznesowych. Dotychczas opracowano zintegrowane środowisko wizualnego projektowania i weryfikacji reguł. Projektowanie reguł składa się z trzech faz podczas których wytwarzany model jest nieustannie monitorowany pod kątem poprawności składniowej i logicznej. Głównym celem tego artykułu jest pokazanie, w jaki sposób wytworzone środowisko projektowania reguł może zostać użyte do projektowania reguł biznesowych.

Then, to simulate the flow of transport orders, we will built analytical models for the mapped processes and introduced parameters for all activities and process events. The effect of changes examined by values of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the mean time order processing and human resources burden in the original model and the target which included the TMS class system implementations.

The article discusses issues related with process modeling. Process modeling is supposed to help to describe, analyze and document processes within the discussed organization. Processes can be modeled with use various tools, some as simple as a sheet of paper and a pen, some sophisticated as specialized notations. It is crucial that the selected method (language) of modeling is under-standable to all people participating in the process. Currently, there are over 70 modeling languages in use. The choice of a modeling language depends on peculiarity of a process as well as the deter-mined objective. The present work provides a list of the most commonly used languages and a des-cription of some of them (e.g. BPMN notation, SwimLane method, UML).

Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) is a visual specification language without well-defined concepts for equivalences. This necessitates the establishment of fundamental notions that underpin the equivalences of BPMN processes. The main body of the paper is centered around the principle of substitutibility in which different types of equivalences of BPMN processes are formally described. Additionally, these results provide a basis for defining the behavioural equivalence of BPMN models. Our research investigation contributes to the field of business process management by developing a tight connection between BPMN and its associated equivalence notions.

At the age of dynamically changing market conditions, the speed of information flow and decision-making is one of the key factors affecting the competitiveness of enterprises. The decision-making process can be effectively assisted by simulation tools that allow multi-criteria analysis of the potential benefits or risks of the planned activities. The stage immediately preceding the use of simulation tools is modeling process, without which there is no way to effectively monitor and control the realized activities. The research problem defined by the authors is the way to carry out an assessment of the production process efficiency, taking into account the multidimensional analysis of the interdependencies within the process as well as the relationships with other processes that affect the continuity of the material flow. The aim of this paper is to present the concept of an evaluation model for the production process efficiency, as a proposal to minimize the identified research gaps in the fragmented definition of efficiency issues. This article focuses on the problem of modeling the evaluation process of production efficiency in iGrafx Process 2011 for Six Sigma, using the BPMN. The choice of this standard was determined by the representativeness of the modeling of processes and operating systems as well as the universal character, which allows the use of applications for other standards and notations. The result of the research conducted by the authors is a model that is conceptually prepared for verification, both in business practice as well as in the simulation procedure.

The main trends in developing an approach and tools for business process modelling are discussed. Business Process Management (BPM) and BPM Notation (BPMN) are presented. Moreover, the possibilities of C2 NIWA in a wide range of these tools running on a supercomputer are suggested. Firstly, the company development strategy can be planned. Złożoność BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) jest powodem trudności w poprawnym stosowaniu notacji. celem artykułu jest identyfikacja najważniejszych problemów, jakie sprawia wykorzystanie BPMN w różnych aspektach zarządzania procesami. Autor dokonał przeglądu publikacji związanych z zarządzaniem procesowym, ale niezwiązanych bezpośrednio z analizą systemów informacyjnych, w których wykorzystano do ilustracji BPMN. na tej podstawie zidentyfikowano najczęściej występujące błędy syntaktyczne w modelowaniu za pomocą BPMN i oceniono skalę tego zjawiska. Analiza wykazała, że największe trudności sprawia poprawne zastosowanie przepływów komunikatów oraz zdarzeń typu komunikat, a także rozróżnienie uczestników i wykonawców oraz ich poprawne reprezentowanie na diagramach w postaci basenów i torów.

The complexity of BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) is the cause of difficulties in the correct use of the notation. This article aims to identify the most important problems of BPMN usage in various aspects of process management. The author conducted a review of articles illustrated with BPMN diagrams and related to process management, but not directly related to the analysis of information systems. On that basis, the most common syntactic errors in BPMN modeling were identified and the scale of that phenomenon was assessed. The analysis showed that the greatest difficulties were associated with the correct application of message flows, message events, as well as with the distinction of participants and actors, and their proper representation in the diagrams in the form of pools and lanes.

High complexity of business processes in real-life organizations is a constantly rising issue. In consequence, modeling a workflow is a challenge for process stakeholders. Yet, to facilitate this task, new methods can be implemented to automate the phase of process design. As a main contribution of this paper, we propose an approach to generate process models based on activities performed by the participants, where the exact order of execution does not need to be specified. Nevertheless, the goal of our method is to generate artificial workflow traces of a process using Constraint Programming and a set of predefined rules. As a final step, the approach was implemented as a dedicated tool and evaluated on a set of test examples that prove that our method is capable of creating correct process models.

Modern information management systems are often driven by workflow engines, which require an accurate, detailed, and structured process description. Instead of theoretical modelling of such processes we propose a technique which can be a connection between traditional management (organisational structure) and business process management approach. In our work we present a case study where the automatic process mining techniques are applied to administrative processes in an environment of event logs recorded by DMS. We use event log data to discover and describe the process map of the organisation and to model structured process descriptions. Our approach allows for the extraction of models based on facts and it is a direct connection between the process model and raw data generated by the organisation. Such scenario increases consistency between the mapped model and the reality of the organisation.

Założono, że kancelaria wyposażona jest w urządzenia i oprogramowanie pozwalające na automatyczną identyfikację dokumentów na podstawie znaczników RFID. Procedury kancelarii przedstawione zostały w postaci procesów biznesowych w notacji BPMN.

It was assumed that office is equipped with the devices and software for automatic identification documents based on RFID tags. Office procedures have been presented in the form of business processes in BPMN.

The paper is characterized by efforts to create a business model of enterprise software and technical documentation. The author points out that the overriding factor is to identify actions to modeling, which defines the scope of the project. In mapping the organization and construction of scenarios of business processes is of paramount importance dictionary of phrases and descriptions of domain rules of correctness for the recording and processing. The author describes the key process models, partial (procedures) and elementary (the workflow map.) This indicates the suitability of BPMN and UML notation in the record of the mapping rules and modalities for the functioning of the organization and in the description of static and dynamic structure of the system. Pointing to the integration of business process management system architecture author assesses the suitability of the chosen modeling notation.

Artykuł charakteryzuje działania mające na celu utworzenie biznesowego modelu przedsiębiorstwa oraz dokumentacji technicznej oprogramowania. Autor dowodzi, że nadrzędnym czynnikiem działań jest określenie celu modelowania, który definiuje zakres projektu. W odwzorowaniu organizacji i budowie scenariuszy procesów biznesowych fundamentalne znaczenie ma słownik zwrotów dziedzinowych i opis reguł poprawności dotyczących zapisu i przetwarzania danych. Autor opisuje modele procesów głównych, cząstkowych (procedury) oraz elementarnych (mapę przepływu pracy). Wskazuje na przydatność notacji BPMN i UML w zapisie odwzorowującym zasady i sposoby funkcjonowania organizacji oraz w opisie statycznej i dynamicznej struktury systemu informatycznego. Wskazując na integrację procesu zarządzania biznesowego z architekturą systemu informatycznego, autor dokonuje oceny przydatności wybranych notacji w zakresie modelowania.

W pracy dokonano próby modelowania i implementacji procesu logistycznego (procesu zamówień) z wykorzystaniem notacji BPMN w programie BizAgi Studio. W opracowaniu zaprezentowano tworzenie modelu procesu, modelu danych, formularzy, definiowanie reguł biznesowych i zasobów, połączenie z istniejącymi systemami, weryfikację procesu oraz jego implementację na lokalnym hoście. Zwrócono uwagę na podejście systemowe w logistyce, w którym istotną rolę odegra rozwój procesów logistycznych, które można szczegółowo śledzić dzięki zastosowaniu notacji BPM. Monitorowanie wspomnianych procesów sprowadza się do właściwej definicji przepływów fizycznych i informacji, dzięki której można zbudować ogólny model systemu logistyki przedsiębiorstwa przemysłowego. Budując aplikację opartą o BPMN dla danego przedsiębiorstwa można usprawnić system przepływów fizycznych i informacji oraz poprawić jakość w przedsiębiorstwie, co wskazano w niniejszej pracy.

Due to the global competition, the enterprises not only reorganize their strategies but also look for the new system solutions based on the knowledge. Such actions are necessary for the enterprises to reach the success. The purpose of this work is to present the example of the implementation of the logistics process using the BMP notation in BizAgi Studio. The paper describes the development of the process model, data model, forms, definition of business rules and resources, integration with the existing systems, verification of the process and the implementation on the local host.
