Purpose: The objective of this paper is to identify leading technologies in Industry 4.0. Design/methodology/approach: The identification was made with the use of text mining to explore the scientific texts in this field. Assumptions of own iterative method for analyzing scientific texts were proposed, with the use of R language, tokenization, lemmatization, n-grams and correspondence analysis. The assumptions of the proposed method were used to analyze the 40 most often quoted articles indexed in the Web of Science. Findings: On the basis of the obtained results, 4 leading technologies were identified. These are Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Cyber-physical System and Big Data. Originality/value: The article proposes an original method of identifying the leading technologies used in Industry 4.0. The proposed method is based on text mining and correspondence analysis.

Purpose: A feature of the information society is the widespread use of information and communication technologies in both business processes and everyday life. The condition for the universality of these solutions is to ensure access to high quality information and communication technologies throughout the country. The aim of the article is to assess the availability and use of information and communication technologies in the voivodeships of Poland. Design/methodology/approach: The methodology of the article is based on descriptive analysis of the information society in Poland. The scope of the considerations concerns the spatial diversity in the availability of information and communication technologies in Poland from the perspective of citizens and businesses per voivodeship. The research used secondary data made available by the Statistics Poland, including the Local Data Bank, Eurostat and the Digital Agenda for Europe. Due to the availability of comparable statistics, 2015 and 2019 were analyzed. Findings: The level of development of the information society in Poland systematically increases. However, Poland is among the countries with the lowest rate of digital economy in the EU. The development of online services comes out as the best developed, while the telecommunication infrastructure falls at the other end of the spectrum. The analysis of selected data concerning the development of the information society in Polish voivodeships indicates that there are differences in the access of the communities of individual regions to high quality information and communication technologies. In particular, inequalities in access to and use of broadband Internet were found. The diversity, which can be described as a digital divide, is particularly characteristic in the relationship between Western Poland and Eastern Poland and is evident in the use of eGovernment services. Social implications: The existence of spatial diversity may affect the implementation of the development priorities of the country and the EU. Public administration is in the period of transition from the traditional way of dealing with the matters of citizens and enterprises to modern — electronic implementation of public services, which requires the state not only to provide access to modern technologies, but also to invest in digital skills of administration employees and society. Originality/value: The results of the conducted analysis may provide guidance for national and regional economic policy entities in terms of shaping forms of public support for development of information and communication technologies in the next development programming perspectives.

This paper provides a systematic review of the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in logistics services to analyze managerial implications for improving the logistics service quality. The literature review has been performed using two academic databases Scopus and Web of Science and spans the years 2008-2019. Bibliometric network analysis were used to highlight research areas for the study of current technologies in the logistics service industry. The paper highlights the classification of the information and communications technologies in the logistics service industry, new trends in logistics service in terms of Industry 4.0 and the impact of current technologies on management of logistics service quality.

Niniejszy artykuł zawiera systematyczny przegląd roli technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych (ICT) w usługach logistycznych w celu przeanalizowania wpływu zarządzania na poprawę jakości usług logistycznych. Przegląd literatury został przeprowadzony przy użyciu dwóch akademickich baz danych Scopus i Web of Science i obejmuje lata 2008-2019. Bibliometryczną analizę sieci wykorzystano do podkreślenia obszarów badawczych do badania aktualnych technologii w branży usług logistycznych. W artykule podkreślono klasyfikację technologii informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych w branży usług logistycznych, nowe trendy w usługach logistycznych w zakresie Przemysłu 4.0 oraz wpływ obecnych technologii na zarządzanie jakością usług logistycznych.

Currently, digital skills have become an important factor for the development and active participation in today's information society. The article describes innovative IT methods and tools used in the education process. New technologies and new methods of conducting classes form the basis of today's education. Traditional methods have been replaced by digital tools that are perfect at the stage of educating school students in IT profiles, preparing them for vocational exams. The article compares the results of school students from vocational exams at the Technical College of Lublin with the results from the entire Lubelskie Voivodeship.

Aktualnie cyfrowe umiejętności stały się istotnym czynnikiem rozwoju i aktywnego uczestnictwa w dzisiejszym społeczeństwie informacyjnym. W artykule opisano innowacyjne metody oraz narzędzia informatyczne wykorzystywane w procesie kształcenia. Nowe technologie oraz nowe metody prowadzenia zajęć lekcyjnych stanowią podstawę dzisiejszej edukacji. Tradycyjne metody zostały zastąpione cyfrowymi narzędziami, które doskonale sprawdzają się na etapie kształcenia młodzieży szkolnej w szkołach o profilu informatycznym, przygotowujących młodzież do egzaminów zawodowych. W artykule porównano wyniki egzaminów zawodowych uczniów Technikum Informatycznego w Lublinie z wynikami uczniów z całego województwa lubelskiego.

The tenets and principles of Gandhi are relevant in present times too. These include: Satya (Truth); Ahimsa(Non-violence); Vegetarianism; Mauna (Silence); Nai Talim (Basic Education). His entire political strategy, satyagraha, ahimsa and fasting was based on the superiority of 'soul force' to physical force. Today, on the one side when we are advancing with technology, its’ responsible use can help in addressing many problems of the society like corruption, lack of transparency, etc. The paper explores how Gandhian principles can be realized by adopting technology-driven interventions. The paper focuses mainly on issue of corruption and transparency and links how technology, can contribute to address the problem and realize ‘truth’ through transparency. The study analyses opinions and attitudes among Chemistry teachers participating in the national project titled “Modernisation of the Educational Process in Primary and Secondary Schools”. The research part of the study consists of the results of our findings examining the overall satisfaction of course participants with the professional level, difficulty, and contents of the designed TPACK-based (the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) teaching model, as well as their self-assessment of the acquired skills and knowledge regarding the work with particular software and hardware applications. The results indicate that the course based on the TPACK framework and comprising specific examples of teaching activities supported by the use of technology was highly appreciated by teachers. Examples of methodologies for a suitable use of digital technologies in a particular curriculum topic in Chemistry, based on the TPACK model, were evaluated by teachers as the most beneficial ones, in terms of the actual teaching practice. The research confirmed that teachers expect to receive educational technologies together with high-quality methodical guidelines and particular examples of teaching activities involving appropriate and efficient use of the given digital technology in the teaching process.

Analizie poddano opinie i postawy nauczycieli chemii biorących udział w narodowym projekcie „Modernizacja Procesu Edukacyjnego w Szkołach Podstawowych i Ponadpodstawowych”. Część badawcza opracowania składa się z analizy wyników, które prezentują ogólne zadowolenie uczestników kursu z poziomu zawodowego, trudności i treści zaprojektowanego modelu nauczania opartego na TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) oraz samoocenę nabytych umiejętności i wiedzy w zakresie pracy z poszczególnymi aplikacjami programowymi i sprzętowymi. Wyniki wskazują, że kurs oparty o ramy TPACK i obejmujący konkretne przykłady działań dydaktycznych wspieranych przez wykorzystanie technologii został wysoko oceniony przez nauczycieli. Przykłady metodologii właściwego wykorzystania technologii cyfrowych w konkretnym temacie nauczania chemii z wykorzystaniem modelu TPACK zostały ocenione przez nauczycieli jako najkorzystniejsze pod względem faktycznej praktyki dydaktycznej. Badania potwierdziły, że nauczyciele oczekują technologii edukacyjnych wraz z wysokiej jakości wskazówkami metodycznymi oraz konkretnymi przykładami działań dydaktycznych wiążących się z odpowiednim i efektywnym wykorzystaniem danej technologii cyfrowej w procesie nauczania.

The modern business model means that, regardless whether for-profit or nonprofit, an organization should use ICTs in their activities. Nowadays social enterprise has emerged as a key actor in efforts to address the many complex issues facing the world today. Its focus on providing a benefit to society as a whole rather than just the owners of the enterprise makes it ideal for addressing the global concerns of the environment, healthcare, education, economic growth, and poverty alleviation. This article demonstrates specific examples on how Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can help social enterprises and other organizations to achieve their goals.

Współcześnie przyjęcie przez organizację modelu biznesowego (niezależnie czy jest to organizacja for-profit czy non-profit) oznacza dla niej konieczność uwzględnienia w swoich działaniach ICT. Obecnie przedsiębiorstwa społeczne stały się kluczowymi podmiotami działającymi na rzecz rozwiązywania wielu złożonych problemów dzisiejszego świata. Działania przez nie realizowane przyczyniają się do rozwiązywania problemów z zakresu opieki zdrowotnej, edukacji, rozwoju gospodarczego, walki z ubóstwem, marginalizacji zawodowej czy środowiska naturalnego. W niniejszym artykule autorki przedstawiają konkretne przykłady ilustrujące w jaki sposób technologie informacyjne i komunikacyjne (ICT) mogą pomóc przedsiębiorstwom społecznym i innym organizacjom w realizowaniu i osiąganiu ich celów.

Praca dotyczy badań nad stopniem wykorzystania handlu i biznesu elektronicznego w przemyśle tekstylno-odzieżowym oraz ich wpływu na ten przemysł. W tym celu przeprowadzono badania empiryczne wśród polskich przedsiębiorstw ww. sektora, przeanalizowano uwarunkowania prawne dotyczące handlu i biznesu elektronicznego międzynarodowych organizacji zajmujących się handlem (takich jak Światowa Organizacja Handlu - WTO, Unia Europejska, i inne), a także przeanalizowano wszystkie dostępne programy Unii Europejskiej pod kątem ich przydatności w finansowaniu projektów związanych z handlem elektronicznym oraz technologiami ICT (ang. information and communication technologies) dla firm sektora tekstylno-odzieżowego.

The structure of the thesis was subordinated to the specific goals and research hypotheses. It consists of four main chapters and conclusions. Chapter one is of an introductory character. It presents a short history of internet, basic aspects of electronic commerce and business, such as its models or unique features with respect to traditional commerce. Basic statistical data concerning the electronic commerce with particular reference to trade of products from textile and clothing sector, as well as those concerning the number of users of internet in the world and in Poland are given. The conclusions from the report concerning the electronic commerce in the textile and clothing sector in the European Union prepared by the eBusiness W@tch organization in 2005 with the comments of the author, and the new ICT paradigm are also presented. Chapter two is devoted to the legal aspects of electronic commerce. At first the regulations of the international organizations such as the WTO, OECD and UNCITRAL are presented. In the next part of this chapter the EU directives are thoroughly described, as Poland is a member of this organization and its regulations are the most important for our country. The last part of the chapter is devoted to the analysis of Polish legal system and its adjustments to the regulations of international organizations. Chapter three is dedicated to presenting and analyzing the empirical research carried out on the basis of questionnaires among enterprises from Polish textile and clothing sector, and drawing conclusions from those results. The research was aimed at checking the level of utilization of electronic commerce and business in those companies and evaluation if their influence on the firms was positive. From the point of view of the main goal of the thesis it is the most important chapter. Chapter four presents the analysis of a wide range of the EU programs with respect to their usefulness for companies from textile and clothing sector in order to achieve direct (financial) and indirect assistance for projects connected with ICT. The last part of the thesis is dedicated to the final conclusions and summary of the performed researches and analyses.

The constant development of information and communication technology (ICT) gives new light to education. We have presented the realization of selected educational task with the use of ICT such as: training of future teachers, education for the work market, education of UTA members, problem solving.

The paper provides discussion and review of selected features, which are most often used in research and assessment of the degree of development and (social and spatial) accessibility of IT infrastructure, first of all of ICT networks. In the first stage, a list of the categories of (diagnostic) features was constructed. The next step was connected with substantive and formal (statistical and mathematical) analysis of the features aimed at reduction of the number of variables under consideration, based on empirical data in the order of selected spatial units in Poland. The objective was to build such a complex measure which would reflect the features both stimulating and hampering development and accessibility of the networks in the order of the spatial units examined. GIS and statistical software was used for the construction and presentation of spatial diversification of selected complex measures of accessibility of networks in Poland.
