The article discusses issues of copyright and related rights in the light of the provisions that are in force in Poland. The concepts of 'work' and 'creator' are presented, and attention is called to abuses related to attributing authorship of someone else's work. The topic of disposing of the rights to a work created under an employment relationship and the issue of contracts concluded are discussed. The problem of intellectual property rights in projects carried out for the Ministry of National Defence is also raised.

W artykule omówiono zagadnienia prawa autorskiego i praw pokrewnych w świetle obowiązujących w kraju przepisów. Przedstawiono pojęcie utworu i twórcy, zwrócono uwagę na nadużycia związane z przypisywaniem autorstwa cudzego utworu. Omówiono temat dysponowania prawami do utworu stworzonego w ramach stosunku pracy oraz kwestię zawieranych umów. Poruszono również problem praw własności intelektualnych w projektach wykonywanych na rzecz Ministerstwa Obrony Narodowej.

18 stycznia 2019 r. minęła 220. rocznica opatentowania pierwszej maszyny papierniczej. Tego dnia w Muzeum Papiernictwa w Dusznikach-Zdroju otwarta została wystawa poświęcona jednemu z najważniejszych w dziejach papiernictwa wydarzeń. Ekspozycja została poszerzona o informacje na temat współczesnych maszyn papierniczych, wytwarzanych przez firmę PMPoland, która jest kontynuatorem założonej w 1854 r. fabryki maszyn papierniczych Heinricha Füllnera w Cieplicach.

Prześledzenie drogi od wynalezienia i wyprodukowania pierwszego termoizolacyjnego elementu murowego do używanych obecnie nowoczesnych materiałów ściennych pokazuje, jak genialny pomysł połączenia właściwości dwóch podstawowych materiałów budowlanych przekształcił się w system, który obecnie nazywamy ABK. Czym są te dwa materiały? Jaka była przyczyna? Jak to się zaczęło i dokąd zmierza? Niniejszy dokument opisuje ewolucję produktu, aby zilustrować, w jaki sposób ABK przyczynił się do rozwoju energooszczędnych budynków na całym świecie, spełniając jednocześnie wszystkie wymagania i ograniczenia ekonomiczne.

Tracing the route from the invention of the first manufactured thermally insulating masonry unit to the high-tech wall materials used today, shows how the brilliant idea of combining the properties of two essential building materials has evolved into the system we now call AAC. What are these two materials? What were the drivers? How did it start and where is it heading? This paper goes beyond the mere evolution of a product to illustrate how AAC has contributed to the development of cost-effective and energy-efficient buildings around the world under different requirements and economical constraints.

The key ingredient, which provides the strongest impact on success of an innovation process, is the stage of generating new inventive solution ideas, which requires creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Until the beginning of the 2000th, and even still very much today, creative engineering has been random and chaotic as it was not supported by scientifically based methods. As a result, the process has low effectiveness of dealing with situations demanding new inventive solutions. Introduction of TRIZ (Theory of Solving Inventive Problems) has radically changed the situation in many industries. TRIZ provides a structured support to organize engineering creativity based on many years of studies of innovative development of diverse technical systems and technologies. These studies helped to extract and formulate generic patterns of inventive solutions, which can be reused to produce new ideas in a much shorter time period rather than using traditional methods to enhance creative thinking. Although TRIZ has been successfully used in a number of industries, its use in maritime industry has been rather limited, most likely due to the low awareness by maritime engineers. This paper discusses modern TRIZ and presents some of its techniques that can be utilized in maritime engineering.

W artykule została przedstawiona problematyka dotycząca wkładu polskich wynalazców do rozwoju nauki i techniki na przełomie XIX i XX wieku. Wynalazcy sprzed 100 lat, często zapomniani, podobnie jak i ich wynalazki, które pomimo upływu czasu towarzyszą nam do dnia dzisiejszego. Takim okresem szczególnym był czas I wojny światowej i w jej wyniku uzyskanie własnej państwowości. To z tym okresem ściśle jest związane utworzenie Urzędu Patentowego RP oraz po raz pierwszy w naszej historii opracowanie podstaw dla ochrony prawnej wynalazków powstałych już w wolnej Polsce. W oparciu o przyjęty w tamtym okresie system prawny i ciągle nowelizowane przepisy prawa krajowego, nieprzerwanie od 100 Polski Urząd Patentowy udziela praw wyłącznych na wynalazki i wzory użytkowe zgłaszane do ochrony w naszym kraju.

The article presents the problems concerning the contribution of Polish inventors to the development of science and technology at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Inventors of 100 years ago, who are often forgotten, as well as their inventions, which despite the passage of time accompany us to this day. Such a particular period was the time of the First World War and, as a result, obtaining its own statehood. It is closely related to the establishment of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland and for the first time in our history the basis for the legal protection of inventions have been developed. On the basis of the legal system adopted at that time and constantly amended, national law, continuously from 100 the Polish Patent Office grants exclusive rights for inventions and utility models submitted for protection in Poland.

Over the past decades, demand for innovation in diverse industries, including the maritime industry, has been steadily growing. One of the primary sources of innovation has been the finding of inventive solutions to the most challenging problems. Until recently, the search for inventive ideas relied heavily on random and chaotic methods of boosting creative capabilities, thus drastically reducing productivity in the generation of new concepts and solutions. With the emergence of systematic methods for generating inventive solutions, the situation has changed. Modern methods such as TRIZ suggest a process of solving problems in a systematic way whereby each phase of the process is supported by the relevant analytical techniques and heuristic tools. This article presents Root Conflict Analysis (RCA+), a technique for problem analysis developed for the top-down decomposition of problems to chains of causes and contradictions. The article provides an example of applying RCA+ to discover the causes and contradictions which led a ferry to lose stability at sea.

Rozważania są jednak szersze i dotyczą uogólnionej odpowiedzi na pytanie, jakie czynniki decydują o tym, że jedni wynalazcy wykazują wyższą niż inni skuteczność w tworzeniu wynalazków o znaczeniu komercyjnym? W tym aspekcie przedstawiono systemowy model czynników determinujących te działania.

A conducted system analysis of factors of inventions influencing action in the scope stayed in the article, especially in the industry of the manufacture of foodstuffs. However deliberations are broader and concern the generalized answer to a question, what factors are deciding on the fact that ones inventors are demonstrating higher than other effectiveness in creating inventions about commercial meaning? In this aspect a system model of determinants was described this action.

The paper gives some recommendations to the design process targeted onto a new, innovative technical product. Changes in fields of applied design methods, organization structures in the R&D departments have been discussed as well as market analysis aspects concerning technical product innovation. The responsible R&D division, in close collaboration with commercial departments and company management has to monitor relevant innovative trends and anticipate future market requirements. It has to be a “bottom up” process, where efficient communication and understanding within the company staff would shape its innovative profile.

Management of intellectual property is a set of intertwined activities subordinate to major business goals of an enterprise. These activities cover identifying, acquiring, creating, protecting, using and disposing of intellectual property assets, which are applied together with analysis of applicability, expediency and possible consequences. These activities, similar to knowledge management, may be implemented according to general or detailed strategies. General strategies determine a framework for intellectual property protection activities in an enterprise, which include development strategies of the entire organisation, whereas detailed strategies are developed for the implementation of general strategies and relate to specific, defined intangible assets.

Zarządzanie własnością intelektualną to zbiór, podporządkowanych zasadniczym celom przedsiębiorstwa, wzajemnie ze sobą powiązanych działań, polegających na identyfikowaniu, pozyskiwaniu, kreowaniu, ochronie oraz korzystaniu i rozporządzaniu dobrami własności intelektualnej, których realizacji towarzyszy jednocześnie analiza możliwości, celowości i konsekwencji ich podejmowania. Działania te, podobnie jak zarządzanie wiedzą, mogą być realizowane według strategii ogólnych lub szczegółowych. Strategie ogólne wyznaczają ramy postępowania w zakresie ochrony własności intelektualnej w przedsiębiorstwie, uwzględniając jednocześnie strategie rozwojowe całej organizacji. Strategie szczegółowe są opracowywane w celu realizacji strategii ogólnych i odnoszą się do konkretnych dóbr niematerialnych.

This text is a critical review of basic concepts related to the theory of argumentation, and shows, by using some examples, the place of diagrams of arguments in the modern theory of argumentation. At the same time they are accommodated in the presentation of the basic tools of argument, such as argumentation diagrams, which are an integral part of research into the argument. Moreover, also brings out software analysis tool supporting argument, called Araucaria. In this critical review I refer to a brief review of the literature, including the works by Hamblin (1970), Johnson and Blair (1987), Walton, Reed and Macagno, allowing you to show7 the theory of argumentation in a broader context and its evaluation is essential in the study of the modern theory of argumentation. Referring to the canon of literature on research on patterns of reasoning (Hastings, Perelman and Olbrechts-Tyteca, van Emeren and Grootendorst, Kienpointner and Walton) trying to get the essential characteristics of precarious (called defeasible) reasoning. The basis for the model year and characterization of patterns of argument will be a proposal made in research D. Waltona.

Podano ujednolicone wykazy zgłoszeń i uzyskanych praw ochronnych przypadające na poszczególne jednostki organizacyjne Politechniki Warszawskiej. Omówienia wykazów dokonano na tle kraju. Ponadto podano przesłanki przemawiające za stałym uzupełnianiem wiedzy studentów i pracowników na temat przedmiotów własności intelektualnej.

In this article a brief review of different available legal forms of intellectual property protection, with special attention paid to patent protection granted for innovative technical solutions, is presented. Factors, that should be taken into consideration when making decision on choosing among the available legal forms, are discussed. Different possibilities of using patent protection in the daily practice of innovative company are also presented.
