Najady to według greckiej mitologii nimfy wodne, które zwykle przebywały w pobliżu rzek, jezior i terenów podmokłych. Nimfy były uosobieniem sił żywotnych przyrody i jej piękna. Mimo boskiego pochodzenia były w pewnym sensie śmiertelne, bo ginęły wraz ze swym środowiskiem. Czy zapowiadany przez Komisję Europejską program działań „NAIADES" (Navigation And Inland Waterway Action and Development in Europe) ma szansę na realizację w kontekście wymagań Ramowej Dyrektywy Wodnej? Czy uda się skojarzyć transport wodny z pięknem nimf?

According to the Greek mythology, Naiades were water nymphs that dwelled near rivers, lakes and marshy grounds. Nymphs were the embodiment of vital forces of the nature and its beauty. Despite their divine origins they were mortal in a sense - they died together with their environment. Will the announced by the European Commission program of action entitled NAIADES (Navigation and Inland Waterway Action and Development in Europe) have the chance of realisation in the context of the Framework Water Directive? Will it be possible to associate water transport with the beauty of the nymphs?
