The article presents an analysis of the possibilities of using RIS to assess the probability of collision during the transition of inland vessels under the bridges on the Odra River. Operational and technical analysis of the bridge structures and their restrictions affecting shipping in the area are also presented. The analysis of the traffic streams of the vessels under the bridge in Radziszewo and the bridge in Gryfino was made on the basis of the AIS data. The number of vessels in the selected area was divided into type and length. The probability of an accident, like collision during an overtaking and passing manoeuver, was defined.

The article discusses issues relating to the determination of a maneuvering area of an inland vessel. The author presents the methodology for defining the vessel's swept path width through simulation and field studies. The Global Positioning System has been characterized in view of possible use of GPS RTK to determine a safe maneuvering area of a ship sailing on inland waterway. The author also explains the procedure of measurements using GPS RTK and discusses problems that may be encountered during tests.

W artykule omówiona została problematyka określania obszaru manewrowego statku śródlądowego. Przedstawiono metodologię określania szerokości pasa ruchu jednostki za pomocą badań symulacyjnych oraz rzeczywistych. Scharakteryzowano Globalny System Pozycjonowania i zaprezentowano możliwość wykorzystania GPS RTK do określania bezpiecznego obszaru manewrowego statku w żegludze śródlądowej. Omó-wiono procedurę wykonywania pomiarów za pomocą GPS RTK oraz problemy jakie można napotkać podczas przeprowadzania badań.

The most important aspect of the transport of goods by water, including inland waterways, is navigational safety. Formal Safety Assessments (FSAs) are widely-adopted methods of risk analysis used to assess safety. By defining potential risks and describing event scenarios, FSAs allow the estimation and minimization of the level of risk of individual events. The current article presents the characteristics of accidents on inland waterways and the classification of accidents, with a discussion of their effects. After analysis, the research area was narrowly defined to vessels passing under bridges, and the threats arising from barges descending from the axis of the fairway. On the basis of the analysis, the authors have offered a risk assessment model of inland vessel collision with some element of navigational infrastructure during under-bridge passage. Event Tree Analysis (ETA) was used to carry out hazard identification.

W artykule omówiony został problem wyznaczenia lokalizacji śródlądowych terminali skroplonego gazu ziemnego (LNG) na rzece Odrze. Przedstawiono główne regulacje prawne dotyczące rozwoju infrastruktury paliw alternatywnych w transporcie morskim i śródlądowym.

The article discusses the problem of determining the location of inland liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals on the Oder River. The article shows the main legal regulations concerning the development of the infrastructure of alternative fuels in maritime transport and inland waterways. The article describe the characteristics of the construction and operation of inland vessels intended for LNG transport and portable LNG tanks. After the analysis of navigation conditions on the Oder River, attempts were made to identify possible locations for LNG terminals along the river. The main criteria in determining the location was access to road infrastructure and potential contractors who might be interested in the operation of LNG terminals.

The study aimed at being a mycological evaluation of spring barley grain harvested from the barley-pea intercrop, on which different methods of weed control had been used. The field experiment was carried out during 2010-12 and it was conducted using randomized block design in four replicates. Weed control was mechanical (spring-tine harrow treatment of variable intensity) and chemical (herbicide Chwastox Extra 300 SL – 3L per ha). Fungal colonization tests were carried out on disinfected and non-disinfected grains. The research has shown statistically significant differences in the total number of fungi isolated from disinfected and non-disinfected grains in particular years of study, between the objects, and in some cases between the study years. The fungus most frequently isolated from all variants of the experiment was Alternaria alternata. Penicillium chrysogenum was isolated only from non-disinfected grains. Presented results show that mechanical weed control treatments of appropriately adjusted intensity do not increase fungal colonization of barley grains in mixed culture with peas, as compared to the herbicidal control. The best variant of mechanical weed control for the cereal-legume mixture in terms of mycological quality of barley grain was one passage of spring-tine harrow at full tillering stage of barley. Mechanical weed control may be an alternative to herbicides in weed control in cereal-legume mixtures and may be particularly important for organic and integrated farming.
