One of the most important parameters affecting traction properties as well as driving safety, especially with regard to vehicles with special purpose, is the distribution of wheel and axle loads on the ground. This issue should be taken into account during the process of creating new vehicles as well as during the modernization process. In the first case, it is quite simple because the mass distribution is shaped already in the design phase. In the second case, the problem is more complex, because with modernization solutions we enter an already existing structure. Modernization basically assumes improving the performance and capabilities of the vehicle with possibly small changes in its base structure. Thus, it imposes important boundary conditions. The article presents the methodology of measurement and selected results of measurements of mass distribution as well as wheel and axle loads of selected motor vehicles during their advanced modernization (STAR 266 cars to the version STAR 266M2 and Honker 2000 to the version Honker M-AX). Modernizations carried out by Autobox Innovations Ltd. Lim. Par are mainly focused on increasing the traction of vehicles, traffic safety, and driving comfort. Measurements were made at the above-mentioned company.

Purpose: The main objective of our study is to determine the levels of pressure to breach accounting ethics principles that professional accountants in business are exposed to. This research aims to explore accountants' intention to quit the profession due to ethics-related pressures. In addition, we analysed the effect of pressure due to conflicts of interest on job satisfaction. Methodology/approach: This study is based on a survey. The research instrument was an online questionnaire addressed to professional accountants in business. The collected primary data was statistically analysed. We performed the Jonckheere-Terpstra test to verify the hypotheses. Findings: Our evidence suggests that accountants in Croatia most frequently face the pressure to perform without expertise or due care. The intention to quit the accounting profession is related to the frequency of exposure to pressures regarding the preparation and presentation of accounting information, inducements, and non-compliance with the laws and regulations. The pressure due to the conflicts of interest has a negative impact on job satisfaction with the nature of the work, top management, co-workers, and supervision. Research limitations/implications: This evidence is provided for a relatively small sample of Croatian accountants (N = 85), which could be considered a limitation of our study. Never-theless, our study has important implications for future research that should explore in depth various factors that induce the pressures to breach accounting ethics principles. Originality/value: Our findings fill an important gap in research into job satisfaction and accounting ethics. Since the ethics-related pressures that accountants face have been poorly examined, this paper has made a significant contribution to accounting ethics literature.

Chinese continental margins are experiencing remarkable environmental changes driven by anthropogenic activities and climate change. As an important habitat and sea-based fish farming resource in China, the Bohai was selected as a case study to understand how ecosystems and social interactions are influenced by multi-stressors. The Bohai ecosystem has been considerably modified. The Bohai coastline has been significantly changed (e.g., total sea area decreased and morphology changed) by sea reclamation and riverine sediment transport related to agriculture and erosion. Therefore, the strict reclamation policy and “Grain-for-Green” program have been issued to protect the coastline. Nutrient concentrations and composition have been changed by fertilizer application, wastewater discharge, and variations in seasonal patterns of riverine nutrient fluxes. Hence, pollution control and prevention are necessary. More seriously, fishing resources have been altered, as a result of environmental changes and overfishing. Therefore, a summer fishing ban and stock enhancement should be vital besides environmental improvement. This study can help to predict and mitigate impacts on global continental margins that are experiencing similar environmental stress.

The main threats to the Rhodeus amarus (Bloch, 1782) populations in the Natura 2000 site Oltul Mijlociu - Cibin - Hârtibaciu are the hydro technical modifications of the riverbeds, chemical pollution and poachery. ADONIS:CE is used in general for modeling business processes, but here was used in ecology/biology domain. The authors obtained a Rhodeus amarus model which included all the habitat species requirements, the indicators that provide favourable conservation status and the existing threats and pressures. The maintaining of the minor riverbed morphodynamics is very important - the meanders presence is very important for the local molluscs which are living in the inner U shape parts of the river. The places, where the sediments (sand, mud) are relatively stable, provide suitable habitats for molluscs important for the breeding of Rhodeus amarus. The maintaining of the actual regimes of liquid flows and oxygenation, and the avoidance of increasing of the sediments deposition rate in the water are necessary also for those molluscs species presence conservation. The extraction of sediments in these rivers should be made in correspondence with their natural rate of refilling and at sites at a distance of minimum five kilometres from each other.

The predominant threats to the Bitterling populations in the Sighisoara-Târnava Mare Natura 2000 site are the hydro technical modifications of the river channels, organic contamination and illegal fishing. ADONIS:CE is applied commonly for business processes modelling, however, in this study case was applied in an ecology/biology sphere of interest. The authors acquired a Bitterling model which contained all of the identified habitat species’ necessities, the specific indicators that give good preservation status and the present pressures and threats. The keeping of the riverbed morphodynamics is especially necessary - the meanders existence is significant for the aquatic mollusc species which are existing in the inner U shape sectors of the lotic systems. The sectors, where the sand and mud are relatively fixed, give appropriate habitats for molluscs which is valuable for the reproduction of Bitterling. The preserving of the present water oxygenation and regime of liquid flows, and the prevention of the sediments deposition rate in the aquatic habitats are needed too for the molluscs’ existence. The sediments exploitation in these lotic systems should be realised in relation with the natural rate of renewal and at sites at a distance over five km between them.

A test stand making it possible to analyse the hydraulic processes that take place in the hydraulically controlled automotive continuously variable transmission (CVT), operating with a pushbelt or chain, has been described. The test stand was developed at Lodz University of Technology (TUL), Department of Vehicles and Fundamentals of Machine Design. The transmissions of this type and the transmission ratio control systems being in use at present have been briefly characterized. In the next part of the article, attention has been focused on the hydraulic control system, which is now most popular. In consideration of the known drawbacks of the classic system with a single fixed-displacement pump, a new engineering solution has been proposed to improve the system efficiency. The test stand shown here makes it possible to carry out various tests of the new solution mentioned above. The method of obtaining similarity between the test setup and the arrangement of elements in a real Jatco CVT7 unit has been presented. This has been achieved by appropriate selection of the type and geometry of the lever system that interconnects the movements of two actuators on the test bench. A new balance of forces exerted by the actuators is achieved for every proportion of the pressures and the corresponding displacements on the test stand are proportional to the displacements in the reference CVT. Some test results have been given as an example.

W artykule opisano stanowisko badawcze opracowane w Katedrze Pojazdów i Podstaw Budowy Maszyn Politechniki Łódzkiej, pozwalające na analizę zjawisk hydraulicznych zachodzących w samochodowej przekładni bezstopniowej o sterowaniu hydraulicznym współpracującej z pasem pchanym lub łańcuchem. W artykule przedstawiono krótką charakterystykę tego typu przekładni oraz stosowane dziś rodzaje sterowania przełożeniem. W dalszej części skupiono się na najpopularniejszym dziś rozwiązaniu hydraulicznym. Wobec znanych niedoskonałości klasycznego układu w tego typu przekładniach z jedną pompą o stałej objętości jednostkowej, opracowane zostało nowe rozwiązanie w celu podniesienia sprawności. Opisywane stanowisko badawcze umożliwia przeprowadzenie różnorodnych testów wspomnianego, nowego rozwiązania. Osiągnięto to poprzez odpowiedni dobór układu dźwigniowego, sprzęgającego ruch dwóch siłowników, dzięki któremu dla każdego stosunku ciśnień w obu siłownikach wypracowana zostaje nowa równowaga sił a odpowiednie przemieszczenia na stanowisku badawczym są proporcjonalne do przesunięć w referencyjnej przekładni CVT. Przedstawiono sposób w jaki uzyskano podobieństwo stanowiska do układu z rzeczywistej przekładni Jatco CVT7 oraz przykładowe wyniki badań.

Decyzje i działania (odpowiedzi) podejmowane na podstawie pełnej i wiarygodnej analizy czynników sprawczych, presji, zmiany parametrów stanu i ich wpływu na środowisko, społeczeństwo oraz gospodarkę mogą z dużym prawdopodobieństwem w długoterminowej perspektywie przynieść pożądane efekty. W artykule opisano model DPSIR (driving forces, pressures, state, impact, responses; odpowiednio: czynniki sprawcze, presje, stan, wpływ, odpowiedzi) służący do szczegółowej analizy interakcji pomiędzy czynnikami antropogenicznymi a środowiskiem. Tworzony model DPSIR będzie skutecznym narzędziem do zarządzania jakością powietrza. W artykule przedstawiono badania prowadzone w Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej, które zostaną wykorzystane jako jedne z wielu danych wejściowych w powstającym modelu DPSIR. Opracowywany model będzie jednym ze składowych zaawansowanego narzędzia tworzonego na AGH, w ramach Obserwatorium Transformacji Energetycznej (OTE), które umożliwi przygotowanie rekomendacji optymalnych działań dotyczących realizacji polityki energetycznej i poprawy jakości powietrza w Polsce.

Decisions and actions taken base on analysis of the driving forces factors, pressures, changes in the parameters of the condition and their impact on the environment, society and economy may help to archive long term effects. This article describes the DPSIR (Driving Forces-Pressures-State-Impact-Responses) model for the analysis of anthropogenic and environmental interactions. The article describes the above-mentioned main components of the model and their meaning, which allows for the determination of air quality in Poland. In addition, selected research conducted at the AGH University of Science and Technology, which is part of the DPSIR model, is presented. The developed model will be one of the components of the advanced tool created by AGH, i.e. the Observatory of Energy Transformation (OTE), which will enable the preparation of recommendations for optimal actions regarding the implementation of energy policy and improvement of air quality in Poland.
