Purpose: The aim of the study was to assess the quality of life of parents of children with cerebral palsy. Materials and methods: The study included 40 parents of children with cerebral palsy treated at the Department of Pediatric Rehabilitation of the Medical University of Bialystok. The WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire was used as a research tool; it enables obtaining a quality of life profile in four domains: physical health, psychological, social relationships and environment. The severity of a child's movement disorders was assessed using the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). Results: In the studied group of parents of children with cerebral palsy, more than half described their quality of life as good and was pleased with their health. The largest differences occurred in parents of children with cerebral palsy in the environment domain, p=0.0068, and the psychological domain, p=0.010. Quality of life in all four domains was assessed as lower in parents of children with cerebral palsy compared with parents of healthy children. Only in the evaluation of health care facilities parents of children with cerebral palsy assessed them better than parents of healthy children. Conclusion: Parents of children with cerebral palsy describe their quality of life as good and are satisfied with their health.

The present study used the „CORT 2004 Questionnaire Regarding Risk Behavior for Health in Young People” for an epidemiological survey on 2908 high school students of the urban area of Timis County, western Romania. The aim of this study is to analyze the magnitude of the illicit drug use of Romanian adolescents and to delineate the parental protective factors inside the family.

There are no studies based on a comparative analysis of the responses of parents, their children and teachers of physical culture. The locality of complete and accurate information makes the right choice of the means and forms of physical education of pupils rather complicated. Aim of research − to identify the forms of physical education, which are popular among students and are appropriate according to the opinion of parents and physical culture teachers. Over 150 works of native scientists have been processed. A questionnaire of 182 physical culture teachers from 102 secondary schools in the Ukraine; 1017 pupils of middle school age and their parents has been conducted. We have used nonparametric methods. The forms of sports-oriented physical education are significantly ahead of short physical exercising and motile breaks by popularity. In the rating of parents, short physical exercise leads, and the results in this group are only slightly inferior to advocating sports sections. Teachers of physical culture also pay great attention to sports sections, sports competitions and short physical exercise. The results for pupils of the special medical group are definitely more interesting than for other children. The decline of interest in "aging" pupils is observed within all forms of physical education, but the highest reduction of interest is in the attitude of pupils to "little" forms. Sports sections, sports competitions, short physical exercise and motile breaks are the favorites among middle school age pupils. Although participation in sports competitions and advocating sports sections are more preferred by boys than girls.

The article presents the results of research focused on temperament of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The aim of the research was to estimate the way parents and teachers assess individual components of temperament of children with ADHD. Studies were also conducted in order to answer the question in what kind of environment (school or family) the temperamental incompatibility that leads to disturbances in the functioning of children with ADHD appears. The study was based on the concept of behavioural genetics by Arnold Buss and Robert Plomin. The authors of this concept have identified three basic features of temperament: emotionality, activity and sociability. In our research, we used the EAS Questionnaire created by Buss and Plomin. The research was carried out in a group composed of 30 children aged from 6 to 14. Studies have shown that teachers and parents evaluate children with ADHD in a different manner. Referring individual elements to criterial features of ADHD, particular attention was paid to activity and emotionality. Both features are demonstrated to a greater degree at school than in a family environment. It is worth emphasizing that activity, as well as emotionality, are genetically determined. This implies that ADHD is a problem that concerns not only the early years of life.

Recent social, cultural and economic changes affect the lifecycle of both families and individuals, having considerable impact on scientifically defined stages, the time dedicated to them, and developmental tasks they are associated with. One of such stages is the move of an adult child out of the family home, which is more and more often put off at the time being. The phenomenon of delaying the moment of separating yourself from your parents is referred to as nesting. Sociological and demographic studies conducted so far show that living with custodians in spite of becoming mature is getting more and more popular among young adults in Poland. In-depth analyses show that even though financial factors (low income, low purchasing power of adult children and no employment) are a significant determinant of nesting in Poland, such decisions are triggered by other motives as well. Nesting, in spite of being an individual attitude, is always a shared experience and the outcome of forces and vectors with the family ecosystem. Nesters are not the only actors of the crowded nest arrangement. Custodians and sometimes also sibling play a significant role there too. This leads to another conclusion, i.e. that nesters are not the only beneficiaries of nesting, while parents are not the only ones who bear the consequences of this co-residency.

The scientific purpose of the study is to present results of researches devoted to relations be-tween parents and teachers in municipal primary schools, in categories of a wider description of mutual connections of the aforementioned entities. The article consists of three main elements. The first one refers to the source literature and based on it outlines the surface for own researches. The second one refers to the presentation of methodological assumptions of the conducted research procedure. The third one includes an analysis of the collected research material. The presented research material allows to notice a peculiar bipolarity in relations between parents and teachers in municipal primary schools, covering transmission and transaction social relations, characterized by subjectification or objectification of parents by teachers or other school employees. In the municipal primary schools which participated in the research, parents indicate dominant objectification, based on information transmission from the teacher towards the parents, lacking a dialogue and deeper transactions with teachers of their own children, as the basic element of interpersonal relationships. Parents inform about a discrepancy between the horizon of their expectations and the surface of experiences, which facilitates the popularization of the transmission perspective, illustrating objectifications between teachers and parents.

In connection with annual increase of children who are ill, there is a necessity of reframing the contents and form of work in physical education both in preschool educational establishments and in a family. It should be noted that the specifics of working with children under school age takes into consideration their age and psychophysical features, and find the most interesting forms of presentation. The analysis of theoretical researches has showed that when children form positive motivation to classes of physical training and sports the most important is the factor of knowledge and influence that is exerted by the parents. Not less important condition for heightening the interest of children to the classes of physical training is experience of a teacher who should be good at modern technologies, aimed at strengthening and saving health of children. The purpose of the article is to prove the necessity of application health-saving technologies in physical education of preschool age children. The methods of research are the following: the theoretical analysis of scientific and methodical literature, testing, a pedagogical test, appraisal of the level of illness, the methods of mathematical statistics. The results of the research. By means of use of children fitness in different forms of physical education the following tasks were solved: progress in physical activity; forming the ideas of a healthy way of life; disease prevention, forming of necessary physical skills, heightening the interest to physical training classes. Use of gaming fitness, fitball-gymnastics and animal aerobics influenced on reduction of disease level, also on increasing motivation of children to physical training classes. The results have shown that the use of health-saving technologies, including technologies of child fitness is a prerequisite for the optimization of modern physical education of preschool children. Proper combination of children’s fitness facilities with traditional means increases the level of physical fitness, physical training formation of the child, an ideas about healthy lifestyles, reduce morbidity and increase interest in the classes that are very relevant today. Perspectives of further scientific researches lie in advanced studying of foreign practices of using children fitness and health-saving technologies in physical education of preschool children.

This article looks into the problem which is really topical nowadays. There are more and more requests for the assignments of pedagogical assistants to children with behavioural disturbances in a normal class. Nevertheless there is no provement that this assignment of pedagogical assistant is really effective and if the given wherewithal suits the purpose. The article describes the influence of pedagogical assistant´s cooperation upon a child integrated because of his behavioural disturbances in a normal class. For data acquisition the semistructured interviews and focused groups were used. Those data were obtained from responsible employee from county council Olomouc region, from Pedagogical - psychological counselling employees Bruntál and from Pedagogical - psychological counselling employees from Olomouc and also from so-called "families" made out of intergrated child´s parents, integrated child because of his behavioural disturbances, class master and pedagogical assistant. For a selection of research sample the simple intended selection was used. As good things of pedagogical assistant allotment can be considered for example improving of child´s school evaluations, behaviour or the possition of intergrated child in the class. There is also a problem of the raising the teaching effectiveness in the whole class, active support of pedagogical assistents from the school director´s side as well as great relationships between pedagogical assistents and class children. As weaker sides of this we can consider the disunity of the way of pedagogical assistant allotment in different regions in the Czech Republic, the not participating of class master in the process of choosing pedagogical assistant, the pedagogical assistant ´s child teaching out of the class, poly-duties by a plenty of pedagogical assistant and the different demands from the parent´s and class master´s side. Very important is also the fact that there is still confusion about the unclear given student´s and pedagogical asistant´s authorities as well as authorities among pedagogical assistant and the class teacher. Last but not least there is a problem of the imposibility of measurements of the effectivity connected with the presence of the pedagogical asistent - there are no given rules at all for the effect research, insufficient necking of the educational quality of pedagogical assistents and aslo the insuficience of men at pedagogical assistant positions.The very comprehensive view upon this problem was made thanks to these high number of interviews and focused groups even because of the data triangulation. It seems that the contemporary pedagogical assistants´ assignment setting systém is really difficult, disunited among the Czech Republic and it can be said the there is no control of the effectiveness if the given wherewithal suits the purpose.

Artykuł obejmuje zarys ujęcia teoretycznego wychowania do wartości w rodzinie oraz wyniki badań przeprowadzonych wśród rodziców w wybranych placówkach wychowania przedszkolnego. Analiza danych określa rozumienie pojęcia wartości w opinii rodziców, a także ukazuje samoedukację rodziców w ramach wiedzy o wartościach. W dalszej kolejności zestawiono sposoby wychowania do wartości, a także metody, które są wykorzystywane przez respondentów. Poprzez analizę wyników wyróżniono trudności, z jakimi zmagają się rodzice w przekazie wartości swoim dzieciom, oraz przedstawiono wartości, do urzeczywistniania których wychowują swoje dzieci.

This article includes outline frame for theoretical education to family values and findings of conducted among parents in selected institutions of preschool education. Analysys of data determines understending of the concept of values in parents opinions and shows selfeducation of parents within the knowledge of the values. Subsequently compiled components for which respondents pay attention in the educational process to values and the methods which are used by them. Analyzing results highlights the difficulty which parents are facing in the transmission of values to their children and shows values which parents generaly comunicate to children in preschool age.

Referat przedstawia główne ustalenia literaturowe na ten temat oraz prezentuje badania własne dotyczące aktywności komputerowej gimnazjalistów. Badaniom poddano uczniów oraz ich rodziców. Uzyskany materiał empiryczny był podstawą sformułowania wskazań do działań chroniących dzieci i młodzież przed uzależnieniem od komputera/internetu.

The differences in human motor development are determined by predispositions and living conditions. The aim of the present study was to examine relationships between motor fitness of children and adolescents aged 8-16 years (277 boys and 247 girls), and their somatic build and quality of life of their families. Body height, body mass and skinfold thickness were measured. On the basis of these measurements body mass index (BMI), Rohrer's index and lean body mass (LBM) were calculated. The subjects' physical fitness was also assessed with motor tests: speed of arm movement (plate tapping), agility (10 × 5 m shuttle run), explosive strength of the legs (standing broad jump), trunk strength (situps), explosive strength of the trunk and shoulder girdle (1-kg medicine ball throw), and flexibility (sit and reach) regarded as a morpho-functional predisposition of motor abilities. The standing broad jump results were then used to calculate maximal anaerobic power (MPA). The examination was completed with a questionnaire survey of the children's parents concerning their families' quality of life. On the basis of the parents' answers to the questionnaire, two quality of life indices were constructed: objective quality of life index and subjective quality of life index. Due to the wide age bracket of subjects the sample was divided into two age groups: 8-12 and 13-16-year-olds. The relationships between subjects' motor development, somatic traits and their families' quality of life were examined with the use of multivariate comparative analysis. The level of motor development of studied children was more strongly determined by their somatic build than the quality of life of their families. The most important somatic determinants of the subjects' motor abilities were body height and subcutaneous adiposity. These determinants primarily affected speed and strength abilities of younger school children. Objective quality of life of children's families determined the development of some strength abilities in children aged 8-12 years. No correlations between the subjects' motor development and subjective quality of life of their families were found.

Modern social problems of childhood neglect, international educational crisis inevitably bring us back to educational discoveries that were made in the 20s of last century by social pedagogue Anton Makarenko. The article outlines the outstanding teacher’s pedagogical ideas and views for correctional work with family and identifies its practical use in modern social and cultural space. The history of the concept of at-risk students is analyzed. Makarenko’s experience with at-risk students is studied. Makarenko’s literary pedagogical legacy was the subject of numerous studies in the 40s of the twentieth century. This continues to cause many conflicting and ambiguous interpretations in native and foreign teachers. Analytical evaluation of many Makarenko’s issues of theoretical developments, deep philosophical and educational, historical, educational, social and psychological context of his work represented in the works of L. Hrytsenko, N. Dichek, M. Evtukh, A. Ilaltdinova. S. Karpenchuk., T. Korableva, V. Morhun, M. Oksa, A. Tkachenko, A. Frolov. Nawadays open up new possibilities, and accordingly to the prospects of studying Makarenko’s pedagogy which dispassionately and certainly reflects its timeless universal educational potential. The teacher-innovator, among the first, clearly and convincingly showed the dependence of family education from the socio-economic factors of society, outlined the mother’s and father’s role in the upbringing of the younger generation, drew attention to the nature and content of parental authority. As an example of false authority Makarenko defined (“authority suppression”, “prestige distance”, “arrogance authority”, “authority pedantry”, “reasoning authority”, “authority of love”, “kindness authority”, “friendship authority”). Several educational Makarenko’s discoveries in the field of family education are very important, but unfortunately, today is not yet sufficiently appreciated. The article proved that modern educational process is impossible without Makarenko’s pedagogical legacy, which realized his ideas and views, namely the use of children’s work as a means of rehabilitation, education at and through a collective team, adhering to the principles of humanity, credibility, rigor, organization discipline, self-discipline, respect for his father and mother, relationship education in the family and school and others. The perspective is a more detailed study of the problem of children’s and youth’s sexual education and their preparation for family life.

Reforming of a nursery school requires a dialogue with the environment of child's family and also common search for new solutions which enhance the effectiveness of care and educational work. The aim of this paper is to present the parents' expectations towards the reform of the nursery school, bearing in mind that this institution is, in fact, the first link in educational system and it constitutes the environment which plays a crucial role in child's development. This article summarizes the results of the researches concerning the parents' expectations towards the realisation of educational, care and didactic functions of the nursery school and towards the cooperation between parents and nursery school educators.

Reformujące się przedszkole potrzebuje dialogu ze środowiskiem rodzinnym dziecka oraz wspólnego poszukiwania nowych rozwiązań zwiększających efektywność pracy opiekuńczo--wychowawczej. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest ukazanie oczekiwań rodziców wobec reformującego się przedszkola. Stanowi ono bowiem pierwsze ogniwo w systemie oświaty ijest środowiskiem, które odgrywa decydującą rolę w rozwoju dziecka. W zawężonej formie zostaną przedstawione wyniki badań dotyczące oczekiwań rodziców wobec realizacji wychowawczej, opiekuńczej i kształcącej funkcji przedszkola oraz wobec współpracy znauczycielami przedszkola.

Szybki, wypełniony zmiennością oraz napędzany produkcją świat oferuje współczesnym rodzicom i nauczycielom nowy sposób komunikacji – przy użyciu dziennika elektronicznego. Artykuł ukazuje pozytywne aspekty wykorzystania dziennika elektronicznego, podkreśla jednak zasadność podtrzymywania osobistych kontaktów nauczycieli z rodzicami. Wyjątkowości bezpośrednich relacji nie da się bowiem zastąpić żadnymi innymi, a dziennik elektroniczny można uznać jedynie za formę wspierającą proces edukacji.

Quick, production-driven and filled with variability world offers new mean of communication between teachers and parents – electronic school diary. The article show positive aspects of use of this type of school diary, but also highlights the need of maintaining personal contacts between teachers and parents. Uniqueness of direct relations cannot be replaced by any other and electronic school diary has to perceived as a supporting form of the process of education.

This publication analyzes the humanistic ideas of personal development in the pedagogical heritage of J. Dewey. In particular it is stated that J. Dewey saw interrelated changes in rational and emotional areas that characterize the level of harmony, its self-aggrandizement in this development. The author has accepted the fact that namely achievement of this harmony is the strategic direction of humanistic education in modern families of the USA. The author has defined the key ideas of humanistic education in the family, namely the relationship of school and family education with the realities of life; the orientation of the educational process on the child’s activity, on the fulfillment of specific practical cases, on its interests. It is found out that the concept of education by J. Dewey refers to pragmatism. The position of a theorist about the organization of a family upbringing combines socio-oriented and child-oriented ideas. It is noted that J. Dewey appreciated American democracy and considered humanistic education of the child in the family as a key of its preservation and strengthening. The significant tendency in the concept of «school of child’s life» by J. Dewey is the reliance on natural processes of physical and spiritual growth, on satisfaction of natural inclinations, on organization of children’s activities in the educational process. The study has revealed the relevance of humanistic pedagogy of John Dewey which requires the parents to adapt to the individual characteristics of the child, to provide an atmosphere of comfort and «psychological safety». The reformer’s recommendations for the teachers and parents that engage home education are focused on: the unity of the development and education; differentiation and diversification of educational influences; individualization of educating communication; creating the favorable conditions for the development of aptitudes and abilities of the child; a comfortable interaction between different generations in the family; psychological safety, protection of the child; a faith in its strength and capabilities; adoption of the child as it is; positioning of the child’s behavior and actions with success; a change of the target set education on the individual development of the child; providing systematic «spiritual meetings with intelligent people». The perspective direction of the research is the pedagogical analysis and recommendations for the parents in the works of J. Dewey and A. S. Makarenko.

Aktywność rodziców jako czynnik wpływający na osiągnięcia szkolne uczniów jest rozpatrywana w dwóch aspektach: jako zaangażowanie w proces uczenia się dziecka oraz jako kontakt ze szkołą. Niniejsze opracowanie ma na celu zasygnalizowanie wybranych kwestii związanych z badaniami tej problematyki. Opiera się ono na pracach anglosaskich, głównie amerykańskich, w których te kwestie są szeroko i wnikliwie analizowane. Artykuł składa się z dwóch części; w pierwszej zaprezentowano kwestie związane z definiowaniem i określaniem komponentów zaangażowania, w drugiej omówiono badania dotyczące związków zaangażowania rodziców z osiągnięciami uczniów.

Activity of parents as a determinant of educational achievement of students is considered in two ways: as an engagement in the learning process of the child and as a contact with the school. This paper is intended to signal the selected issues related to re-search of this problems. It is based mainly on American works in which these issues are widely and thoroughly analyzed. Article consists of two parts; the first shows the issues related to defining and identifying the components of engagement, the second discusses research on the relationships between parents involvement and pupils’ achievements.

Artykuł składa się z trzech części. W pierwszej omówiono zagadnienie straty bliskiej osoby i jej wpływu na życie osobiste i rodzinne, w następnej zagadnienie żałoby, a ostatnia część związana jest z pomocą osobom doświadczonym śmiercią dziecka.

The paper focuses on issues related to the death of a child and on the period of parents mourning. Author, apart from literature related to this topic, describes his own experience based on the meetings with bereaved parents at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Krakow Lagiewniki. The article consists of three parts. The first part discusses the issue of bereavement and its impact on personal and family life. The next describes the issue of mourning and the last part is connected with the help for people who experienced the death of a child.
