The specificity of decision-making processes in the foreign policy of Switzerland has undergone constant changes in recent years due to European integration processes and globalization. New geopolitical challenges brought the need not only for mental, but also institutional adaptation to the current conditions. These transformations refer to the evolution of decision-making centres, as well as to political processes and concepts. Analysing this particular phase of Swiss decision-making process we can conclude that the effect of internationalization has a significant impact on consultation procedures, reduction in the level of conflict, shift in the distribution of power and the rise of new actors. Thus, this article is an attempt to indicate to what extent European integration influenced the decision-making processes in the foreign policy of non-EU countries. The decision on accession to the Schengen/Dublin agreements serves as a point of reference, which perfectly illustrates the practical dimension of the discussed phenomenon.

The analysis of the research problem started from listing the issues of decision theory and the decision-making process that support the process of building decision trees. The area in question covers a procedure for building and proceeding when creating decision trees. The solution to the research problem consists in defining decision variables and arranging them into logical statements by writing down all possible variants and only accounting for the true ones. True solutions derived from coding were detailed and the number of occurring decision trees was calculated in the case under consideration. The decision problem was presented in the form of decision trees, which made it possible to select the optimum decision tree. The obtained results were considered and the optimum decision tree was chosen. At the same time, the record of decision variables was analyzed, providing the answer as to which courier company will best meet expectations of entrepreneurs and ensure the most satisfying cooperation. That company turned out to be K-EX. The article aimed to select a courier company from the perspective of online retailers, with the selection having been made using the method of decision trees based on four basic criteria defined within the research.

The paper presents the possibilities of applying one of the multi-criteria assessment methods (the development measure method) in the processes of multi-variant design of technical and organizational solutions on the example of selecting equipment for a newly designed mine working in a hard coal mine. Using the case study, the authors proposed an alternative solution for decision-making problems in mining companies in relation to solutions based solely on unit costs of coal mining. The case study is preceded by the presentation of general principles regarding cost accounting in mining companies as well as the use of multi-criteria assessments.

Istnieje potrzeba oceny potencjalnej wartości tych złóż w celu ich ochrony, ewentualnie skreślenia z bilansu zasobów i przekazania terenu do gospodarki przestrzennej.

Expected closure of the depleted Olkusz lead and zinc ore district as well as on-going closures of nearby coal mines result in reduced demand for backfill sand and also affect other mineral sectors. Undeveloped deposits of common minerals in many cases are situated in the conflicting areas because of their high natural values or development needs. There is an urgent requirement for evaluation of local mineral resources, which shall lead to their protection or deleting from national resource balance sheet and leaving them free for non-mining land use. Turning of brownfields into vital community assets must be guided by assessment and valorization of natural and man-affected environment, taking into account the geological-engineering conditions, hydrogeology and hydrography including their expected changes, soil types and their contamination, dumpsites. These elements have already been presented on synthetic geopotential maps for environmental management, on hydrogeological and geochemical maps, as well as on the maps presenting impact and degradation of the Earth 's surface, which facilitates delimitation and assessment of conflict areas and land-use planning. The core of the paper deals with the diagnosis of the environment and forecast of its changes after ceasing of mining activity. The closure of mines, which were major suppliers of drinking and industrial water, needs opening of new water intakes and introduction of protection measures against their contamination. Redeveloping ofbrownfields is a serious new target for local governments and regional administration. It needs concerted action much broader than during standard mine reclamation. Expectations for initiatives, scientific support and implementation are directed to high schools and professional geologists, e.g. via the Geological Society of Poland.

At the beginning of the article the authors referred to the consumer, the factors affecting his or her choices and the decision-making process. Subsequently, the factors and circumstances determining the consumer’s choice of a loan denominated in the Swiss franc (CHF) in Poland were specified. In the following section there wa presented an analysis of the value of granted CHF loans in the period from 07.2008 to 05.2022. It was assumed that the analysed group regards: a family of 2+2, i.e., two working individuals with incomes equal to 150% of a minimum wage; a loan of PLN 250,000 to be repaid over 30 years, disbursed on 1.08.2008 in one tranche, being repaid since 1.09.2008. A comparative analysis entailed three selected banks. In the summary, the authors referred to the main hypothesis: despite the knowledge of the economic conditions, the consumer possesses a lower disposable income when choosing a CHF credit, and two auxiliary hypotheses: hypothesis 1 was that home loans denominated in CHF, despite having a lower interest rate are less favourable to the borrower in the long run than the loans denominated in the Polish zloty, and hypothesis 2 was that in the process of deciding upon a bank, the consumer is guided by economic factors.

Political communication is a major factor in the democratisation of power relations, since the latter are based on public policy, ensuring a constant interconnection between political actors at all levels. Through political communication, it is possible to overcome the contradictions that complicate the democratisation of society. The article is a critical examination of the present-day communication interaction between the citizens and the government of Ukraine. The term developed here to describe this phenomenon is the communication discord between the citizens and the government provoked by the heterogeneity of interests and goals of society and factors associated with the activity of the government. Communication policy of the government is aimed at involving citizens in the decision-making process while communication activity of the citizens is oriented on the formation of public opinion, the exchange of ideas and arguments and, later on, on the influence on the government and the decision-making process. The distinction of these two communication processes is also facilitated by the tendency of mediatisation of communications in the modern world, related to technical development, the Internet and social media. Models of the communication interaction between the government and society are researched. Recommendations to improve the political communication of Ukraine’s Government are developed.

The main aim of this article is to discuss some common and tragic human fate, that is making the decisions in state of incertitude (of our real motiva- tions as well as of further consequences of our choices), and especially natu- ral human’s reactions to them, that is searching the hints how to proceed (in- side us, from authority, from ‘the signs of the world’). The examples taken to analyse are: Biblical story of Abraham (Do I really hear the voice of God telling me to kill my son?), philosophical story of Sartre’s disciple (Should I join to the resistance or stay with my sick mother?), and literary story of Dostoyevsky, taken from J.M. Coetzee’s novel Master of Petersburg (How to refine the voice of revelation from the hum of world?). Philosophical con- siderations are connected with narrative analysis in order to not only describe human condition of incertitude but also observe how the medium of literature deals with it.

The article presents the basic principles of real options method (ROM) for the assessment of projects realized by enterprises. Using as an example a loan contracted for three years, the author shows and explains why the ROM is much more effective and better analyzes tool, than the discounted cash flow method (DCF). He also stresses, that from the methodological point of view ROM is not more difficult in application than the DCF, moreover adds flexibility in the decision-making process, and gives for the management staff more freedom in a future, during the undertaking development.

1) i równoległą (rys.

Trends that we can observe in consumer behaviour on the market are an extremely val uable source of information for entrepreneurs. The insight into these trends and theirknowledge allows the selection of appropriate marketing tools that allow more precise control of their behaviour. Consumer purchasing behaviour varies strongly depending on the type of goods which consumers purchase. All the conditions necessary for purchasing decisions should be analysed in detail and are the basis for strategic decision making and the foundation of the decision to adjust the product offer according to the needs and expectations of consumers, and thus increase their level of satisfaction. The purpose of this article is to present a theoretical basis of the consumer’s decision-making process about the purchase of products or services oered by various producers on the market.

The paper presents the barriers that limit the usefulness of the descriptions of success in the decision-making process. Descriptions are different in nature, i.e. they are not universal. Therefore, managers should use the descriptions of success carefully, especially since the conditions in which they occurred, had changed due to the passage of time.

The aim of this article is to attempt to answer the question regarding the relationship between global megatrends and decision-making processes of a person nowadays. The considerations revolve around new trends, human behavior and transformations taking place in the decision-making process. The author argues that people in the turbulent reality use increasingly more mental shortcuts: heuristics in decision-making processes both personal and market choice situations. Simplistic thinking is a sign of the times and also a mechanism protecting human mind from excessive stimulation.
