In this article analysis of a suburban village's nurture environment was conducted, with special attention towards the situation of children and teens. In the first part of the text diversity of a suburban village was discussed and it's new residents were characterized. The second part focused on the strong and weak sides of the suburban village in the children and teens socialization process. The base for this was the results of research about suburbanization and gentrification processes. In the ending directions for actions that can reduce negative effects connected to life of children and teens in suburban villages were specified.

W artykule dokonano analizy środowiska wychowawczego podmiejskiej wsi, zwracając szczególną uwagę na sytuację dzieci i nastolatków. W pierwszej części tekstu omówiono zróżnicowania wsi podmiejskiej oraz scharakteryzowano jej nowych mieszkańców. W części drugiej omówiono mocne i słabe strony podmiejskiej wsi, jeśli chodzi o proces socjalizacji dzieci i nastolatków. Bazą dla rozważań były wyniki badań nad procesami suburbanizacji i gentryfikacji. W zakończeniu określono kierunki działań, które mogą zredukować niekorzystne zjawiska związane z życiem dzieci i młodzieży na podmiejskich wsiach.

The article presents socio-demographic, physical-functional and cultural-symbolic change aspects of chosen local communities in Poland, which aretheresult of the gentrification process, making itself real in their space. In the first part of the article information about genesis and the course of gentrification with the characteristic of the main actors’ groups taking part in it is addressed. The second part of the article is devoted to the description of changes being experienced by local communities. Conclusions included in the end concentrate around consequences of progressive gentrification process for local communities and attempts to set a path to prevent negative aspect of theconsequences mentioned.

Względy etyczne, pragmatyczne i finansowe obligują nas do poszukiwania coraz efektywniejszych rozwiązań w obszarze szeroko rozumianej profilaktyki. Elementami, które w znaczący sposób mogą zredukować ryzyko błędów, przyczyniając się do podniesienia skuteczności, jest z jednej strony oparcie się na teorii, a z drugiej weryfikacja empiryczna jej założeń. Ideą, która łączy te dwie kwestie jest evidence based practice, w ramach której wyznacza się kierunki działania na podstawie teorii oraz wyników badań empirycznych, przy uwzględnieniu interesów klienta. W artykule zaprezentowano możliwości zastosowania podejścia evidence based practice w obszarze profilaktyki skierowanej do dzieci i młodzieży na różnych poziomach ryzyka.

These paper present the discussion about necessity of evidence based practice. Today we know that there is no effective prevention or correction treatment without theoretical foundation and empirical verification. This means searching for the most effective solutions based on the results of research on the situation, the interests and preferences of customers. This approach is now more and more present in the prevention and rehabilitation.

The aim of the article is to present the characteristics of modern generations (Builders, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials – Generations Y, Z and Alpha) and their divergent experience of the COVID-19 pandemic. The methodology involved a review and critical analysis of Polish and English literature of the subject and available reports. The analyses indicate that each generation, to varying degrees, has faced the problem of coping with losses in behavioral, biological, psychosocial, and material terms.
