The traffic adaptive-control processes and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) work on traffic characteristics provided by vehicles various detectors. In majority cases the algorithms work on vehicles number evidences only, recorded on traffic lanes. The expected data concerns the vehicles number and a time schedule observed at stop-lines on intersection inlets or another points of the traffic intensity checking. A satisfactory usage of the video technology needs various simplifications of the data source structure and the processing algorithms. For simplification of these all processes several solutions must be implemented. One can try reducing the data size and improve the processing algorithms. Better results can be expected after proper selection of the data sampling intervals, namely the data granularity finding. Several conclusions concerning the traffic recording and modeling are presented in this work. The discussed technology was implemented to produce.

Adaptacyjne sterowanie procesem transportowym oraz tzw. Inteligentne Systemy Transportowe (ITS) korzystają z charakterystycznych danych zarejestrowanych za pomocą różnych detektorów ruchu. W większości przypadków algorytmy sterowania wykorzystują zapis o liczbie pojazdów na pasach ruchu. Potrzebne dane dotyczą zarówno liczby pojazdów, jak i czasów ich dojazdu do linii zatrzymania na wlocie skrzyżowania lub innego charakterystycznego punktu pomiaru natężenia ruchu. Zadowalające zastosowanie technik pomiarowych wideo uwarunkowane jest wprowadzeniem wielu uproszczeń dla rejestrowanych danych i algorytmów przetwarzania. Modelowanie strumieni pojazdów wiąże się zwykle z pewnymi stratami rejestrowanych danych. Często te dane są nadmiarowe dla uzyskania zadowalającej jakości sterowania ruchem. Dla uproszczenia wszystkich faz sterowania przedstawiono kilka ważnych rozwiązań z teorii rejestracji i przetwarzania danych. Można dokonać znaczącej redukcji rozmiaru plików danych wejściowych oraz uprościć algorytmy ich przetwarzania, nie tracąc niczego z jakości sterowania. Dobrym sposobem dla tych ograniczeń jest określenie właściwego interwału próbkowania danych pomiarowych oraz zdefiniowanie rozmiarów ziarna pomiarowego systemu sterowania. Kilka istotnych rozwiązań, dotyczących rejestracji i modelowania procesów transportowych, zaprezentowano w niniejszym artykule. Opracowania te zostały wdrożone do produkcji.

The multimedia applications design methods have to consider several sophisticated rules, that must be integrated to create a product, which is capable to achieve a satisfying result. The paper describes several aspects of organisation of the package, the project composition and modularity, the navigation principles within the system and the user interaction with the program. The remarks to thee multimedia system design principles have been mentioned in the paper, showing key tasks that should be solved producing the application within Macromedia - Authoring environment.
The study was based on many experiments of gait characteristics analysis, finally on observations of 117 patients suffering from motor disturbances. Among them were 42 cases with hemiparetic syndrome, mostly after cerebral stroke, 52 cases affected by acute sciatic neuralgia and 23 patients with recognition of Parkinson - disease symptoms. The control group was 16 healthy adults selected from medical staff - examined by pedobarographic equipment - PSW [4]. Based on these observations several classification proposals have been introduced. The majority of works concern gait disturbances investigations for three remarkable neurological diseases. They provide us with new diagnostic techniques based on some gait measures implementation.
Majority of data files available on web servers cointains not only various data formats. They are linked together into composition producing sequences that have to be read frame by frame – in a movie mode. Surgery operations are very often recorded on video than stored as a data files in computing centre of the hospital. The multimedia database design methods have to consider many rules that must be integrated to obtain several standards for simplifying the application development and for fast exploration of the product. The paper presents several aspects of the design technique giving a unified composition of the project, modularity of the application and the navigation standards within the product.
The paper concerns e-content characteristic features development to be used in Internet distance learning database. The elaborated e-applications development platform; Multimedia Applications Management Shell (MAMS) was elaborated for simplification of the application structure and for management of the unit. The MAMS platform works together with Quality Repetitions Unit (QRU) that controls the application flow and its repetition. Then, it produces the status of the application transmitted into the user personal data record. Both platforms provide the user with several standards, formats, objects and toll boxes used as an e-learning system library. The standardisation simplifies the application development and the application exploration. The defined standards are needed for Distance Learning System organisation that is at present under development at the University of Silesia.

The described work continues the project defined several years ago, concerning simulation technologies in transportation systems. The main goal of the work was to imply for a single crossroad the neural network technologies in traffic controlling automata development.
This study was based on 27 patients' motor gait disturbances analysis using their pedobarographic records, affected by neurological diseases - hemiparesis or sciatic neuralgia. The evidence comparison concerns the data records collected before and after the rehabilitation processes. The essential conclusions explain a walk characteristics analysis explaining the neurological status of the patient and how to implement the PSW [2, 3] options in clinical practice. This approach can also be used for medical jurisdiction processes as a unique tool for the disease evidence making.
The paper describes body balance characteristics needed for neurological diseases classification and for rehabilitation processes controlling during patient recovery processes. These diagnosis factors allow simplify the PSW (Parotec System for Windows) records recognition [1, 2] then a walk-motor disturbances level estimation. The discussed clinical experiments illustrate new methods for Parkinson disease and stroke progress monitoring. This study was based on many observations of patient walk disturbances recorded in PSW files describing the pressure distribution on an insole set of sensors [1, 2, 8]. The paper describes an analytical method of data record description that allows converting samples of discrete data record into continuous function. This operation allows re-sampling the data record with a sampling rate that is adequate to step duration. The record length is limited to an efficient size for training the Conclusion-Making Unit (CMU). This normalization allows reducing the data record length used for fast training of the CMU.

Artykuł przedstawia raport z badań statutowych realizowanych w Zakładzie Informatyki Transportu w 2005 roku. Opisano w nim metodę zapisu i interpretacji danych o ruchu drogowym pozyskiwanych z wideorejestratora pojazdów. Zaproponowana metoda umożliwia uzyskanie spójnej reprezentacji strumienia ruchu pojazdów przenoszonych do modelu komórkowym [6] systemu sterowania ruchem drogowym. Automat komórkowy jest narzędziem do podejmowania decyzji dla sterowania ruchem pojazdów. Omówiono również ograniczenia czasowe istotne dla prawidłowego funkcjonowania systemu w trybie on-line. Jest to kolejny etap badań realizowanych w Zakładzie w dziedzinie zastosowań metod wizyjnych do opisu ruchu i pojazdów zdarzeń drogowych.

The paper presents report from a status research works carried out in this year m Department of Transport Informatics. A discussed method allows registration and interpretation of traffic data acquired by video-detection techniques. The elaborated method concerns a coherent data representation obtained of traffic stream detector for a cellular modeling [6] control procedures. The cellular simulator establishes a tool for a traffic decision making algorithms. The time limitations, important for proper system functioning in the on-line mode, have also been discussed. The report shows current investigations results in field of road traffic video-detection and traffic control processes being under development this year in the Transport Informatics Department.
The paper presents main features of computer unit that supports the conclusion making system. The system helps the medical staff in putting diagnosis concerning a foot abnormality recognition and classification. For the data record registration the PSW (Parotec System of Windows) has been used [1]. The described unit allows collecting medical experts' knowledge given in fuzzy measures. The classified mechanisms of the patient's walk features have been implemented in diagnostics tool of orthopaedic and neurological diseases. Finally the rehabilitation processes can be organised under control of the expert unit.

In the paper digitally retuned every 1kHz selective null indicator is described in frequency range 1- 20 kHz. In the indicator digitally retuned active filters with switched capacitors have been used.
The reported diagnosis supporting system was provided with knowledge base determined by the disease characteristic features descriptors that were recorded in conclusions table. Every descriptor defines the elementary rules related to every disease factor threshold value, recognised as a sign of the disease presence (the over-gone physiological state). The introduced definitions of the disease characteristics and some fuzzy logic proposals implementations were defined for the decision making system development.
The paper presents the one e-content example used as a pattern solution for distance learning resources development at the University of Silesia. The Intranet technologies were used as networking services for training processes control and future distribution services at the University of Silesia distance learning network. The given solution provides the development team at Distance Learning Technologies Centre with various unifications and library units of four courses that are under development at present in Department of Computer Systems, institute of Informatics. All the applications are running on MAMS (Multimedia Applications Management Shell) environment as a common frame structure for every e-lesson. The MAMS applications are provided with several mechanisms that allow monitoring the user knowledge level and study progress. Various examples of the applications layout and their characteristic features are presented in this contribution.
Present medicine uses computers in various applications, especially in a field of a diseases level classification and diagnosis. In many cases an automatic conclusion making units are the main goal of the computer systems usage. The software units are developed for the diseases classification or for monitoring of the disease medical treatment. An example application was described in this paper. It concerns a gait abnormalities level analysis that is described by a data records gathered by insoles of Parotec System for Windows (PSW) [17,18]. The PSW software package is used for visualisation of the gait characteristic static and dynamic characteristic features. In the authors' works many additional data components were distinguished. The field of the applications is located within the neurological gait characteristics also the source applications concern orthopaedics [16,18]. Careful analysis of the data provided the developers with new areas the PSW applications [4,11,13]. For conclusion making units the artificial networks theory was implemented [2,4,11,13]. For more effective training of the neural networks specific characteristic measures were introduced [4,5]. They allow controlling the training process more precisely, avoiding mistakes in current records classification.
This study based on observations of motor disturbances performed in 42 hemiparetic patients using selected options of the pedobarographic system – Parotec System for Windows (PSW).[3]. The PSW mentioned that several disease cases have distinct excursion into the gravity center movement. The patient’s weight is bearing distribution towards the affected leg, particularly in a heel region. The observed over-loaded region of a foot is well seen in impulse option interfaces. The affected leg can also be observable on a scale of a floor contact. The foot gravity center in case of physiology is located closer to metatarsal zone. Anyhow in case of the affected foot the gravity center moved from the heel into the fingers, in pendulum mode, with irregular speed. Time diagrams of pressure distribution allow observing a distinct elongation of an entrance and a support phase of step, with significant shortage of the push off stage. The mentioned above abnormalities correspond strictly with severity of hemiparesis
