Celem badań była ocena wpływu restrukturyzacji na efektywność przemysłu browarniczego w Polsce. Polski rynek piwa rozwijał się dynamicznie. Wpływ miały na to przekształcenia własnościowe, połączone z modernizacją i rozbudową potencjału wytwórczego, wspierane przez bezpośrednie inwestycje zagraniczne. Browarnictwo stało się jedną z branż przemysłu spożywczego o najwyżej efektywności. W ostatniej dekadzie obserwuje się jednak tendencję spadkową efektywności zużycia pośredniego, nakładów pracy i majątku.

An assessment of restructuring impact on the efficiency of brewing industry in Poland was the main aim of the study. Polish beer market showed a dynamic development. It reflected ownership changes along with modernisation and enlargement of production capacities supported with foreign direct investments. The brewing sector achieved the efficiency which was one of the highest within the entire agri-food industry. However in the last decade the efficiency of direct consumption, labour and capital have declined.

A study of manufacturing micromirrors inclined at 45° towards silicon substrate has been presented in this paper. The micromirrors can be formed by {100} or {110} sidewall planes etched in (110) or (100) Si substrates in alkaline solutions. The smoothness of the surface and etch rate anisotropy are crucial parameters of fabricated structures. The research focused on Si(100) wafers etched either in KOH solutions with alcohol additives or in low concentrated TMAH solutions with surfactant addition and on Si(110) wafers etched in pure highly concentrated KOH or TMAH solutions. The examination showed difficulty of fabrication of the structures with smooth sidewalls and with appropriate shape simultaneously. At the end of the paper, the structure for bringing close and parallel of two optical beams has been proposed.

The process of silicon anisotropic etching in KOH solutions saturated with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is currently the most frequently used process in silicon micromachining. In the work, the results of etching in KOH solutions with the IPA content below saturation lewel have been presented. On the basis of literature considerations of the phenomena occurring in water-alcohol solutions and the results of performed experiments, an analysis of the mechanism of Si substrates etching in KOH+IPA solutions with different compositions has been carried out.

Anizotropowe trawienia krzemu w roztworach KOH nasyconych alkoholem izopropylowym jest procesem obecnie najczęściej wykorzystywanym do wytwarzania mikrosystemów krzemowych. W pracy przedstawiono rezultaty trawienia w roztworach KOH zawierających IPA poniżej poziomu nasycenia. Na podstawie opisywanych w literaturze zjawisk obserwowanych w roztworze woda - alkohol i rezultatów przeprowadzonych eksperymentów, przedstawiono rozważania dotyczące mechanizmu trawienia podłoży krzemowych w roztworach KOH - HPA o różnych składach.

The study investigates the genetic differentiation among two subspecies of Allium ursinum L., namely A. ursinum subsp. ursinum and subsp. ucrainicum as well as their putative hybrid that is represented by individuals with intermediate morphology. Inter-Simple Sequence Repeats (ISSR) were applied to determine the status of intermediate morphotypes in terms of their genetic pattern and to assess the level of genetic variability within and between various populations of A. ursinum. The study comprises 144 specimens from nine populations along the east-west transect in Poland, which includes localities of both subspecies and their putative hybrid. Among the examined populations, 48 bands were amplified, of which 45 were found to be polymorphic. The principal coordinate analysis (PCoA), the neighbour-net analysis and Mantel test showed a strong correlation between genetic variability and geographic distance. Analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) revealed that a greater proportion of total genetic variation resided within populations rather than among them. The Structure Bayesian clustering analysis revealed the presence of three distinct genetic groups within studied populations, where 'eastern' genotypes correspond to A. ursinum subsp. ucrainicum, and 'western' to subsp. ursinum; whereas the third genetic group has the largest share in the individuals occurring at the border of the distribution ranges of both subspecies. The emergence of the third genetic group is probably an effect of hybridization events occurring within the secondary contact zone. Typical morphologically intermediate populations occur only in a relatively narrow geographical zone, but the hybrid zone revealed by molecular markers is actually much wider than it is suggested by the morphological pattern of individuals. The current distribution pattern of both subspecies of A. ursinum and their hybrid zone is related to the two main directions of postglacial migration of Fagus sylvatica to the area of Poland. The hybrid zone arose as an effect of the secondary contact of two divergent lineages of A. ursinum.

W artykule przeanalizowano teksturowanie podłoży krzemowych Si(100) w roztworach wodorotlenków alkalicznych z dodatkami związków powierzchniowo czynnych. Przedstawiono utrudnienia technologiczne związane ze stosowaniem dodatków alkoholowych i zaproponowano nowy roztwór do teksturyzacji. Powszechnie stosowane w procesie alkohole (izopropanol, tert-butanol) zostały zastąpione diolami (alkoholami dwuwodorotlenowymi). Przedstawiono wyniki teksturowania w roztworze KOH z 1,2-pentanediolem. Dokonano optymalizacji składu roztworu i warunków trawienia. Wykonano pomiary współczynnika odbicia światła dla podłoży steksturowanych i dla podłoży pokrytych dodatkowo warstwą antyrefleksyjną. Współczynnik ten dla optymalnych warunków trawienia (1 M KOH+ 2% 1,2-pentanediolu, 90°C, 20 min) wynosił około 10% i był porównywalny ze współczynnikiem odbicia dla podłoży trawionych w KOH z izopropanolem. Niewątpliwe zalety roztworów z diolami (wyższa temperatura procesu, krótszy czas trawienia, ułatwienia technologiczne) wskazują, że mogą one z powodzeniem zastąpić dotychczas stosowane roztwory.

Texturization of Si(100) surfaces in alkaline solutions with addition of surface active compounds was investigated in this paper. Technological difficulties connected with the application of alcohol additives were presented and the new composition of the etching solution for texturization was proposed. The commonly used alcohols such as isopropanol or tert-butanol were replaced by diols (alcohols containing two hydroxyl groups). The results of texturization in KOH solution with 1,2-pentanediol were shown. Optimization of the solution composition and the etching conditions was carried out. The coefficient of light reflection was measured for the textured surfaces with and without an additional anti-reflection coating. The coefficient obtained in the optimal etching conditions (1 M KOH+ 2% 1,2-pentanediol, 90°C, 20 min) was about 10% and was comparable to the reflection coefficient of the surfaces textured in the KOH+IPA solution. Because of the unquestionable advantages such as higher process temperature, shorter etching time and technological improvements, the etching solutions with diols can successfully replace hiherto used texturing solutions.

Despite long-term research, the aquatic genus Nymphaea still possesses major taxonomie challenges. High phenotypic plasticity and possible interspecific hybridization often make it impossible to identify individual specimens. The main aim of this study was to assess phenotypic variation in Nymphaea taxa sampled over a wide area of Eastern Europe and temperate Asia. Samples were identified based on species-specific genome sizes and diagnostic morphological characters for each taxon were then selected. A total of 353 specimens from 32 populations in Poland, Russia and Ukraine were studied, with nine biometric traits being examined. Although some specimens morphologically matched N. xborealis (a hybrid between N. alba and N. Candida) according to published determination keys, only one hybrid individual was revealed based on genome size data. Other specimens with intermediate morphology possessed genome size corresponding to N. alba, N. Candida or N. tetragona. This indicates that natural hybridization between N. alba and N. Candida is not as frequent as previously suggested. Our results also revealed a considerably higher variation in the studied morphological traits (especially the quantitative ones) in N. alba and N. Candida than reported in the literature. A determination key for the investigated Nymphaea species is provided, based on taxonomically-informative morphological characters identified in our study.
