Each situation that disrupts the rhythm of social functioning appears as a threat and generates various fears. The coronavirus pandemic has become such an incredibly disintegrating factor for the proper functioning of the family. Nevertheless, with all the problems it causes, it becomes an opportunity to reflect on the quality of the world of family values and the process of introducing children into them. It seems that it also creates an opportunity to recall the uniqueness of the role and tasks of the family, and to find new motivating factors to take them up.

Każda sytuacja zaburzająca rytm funkcjonowania społecznego jawi się jako zagrożenie i generuje różnorodne obawy. Dla właściwego funkcjonowania rodziny takim niebywale dezintegrującym czynnikiem stała się pandemia koronawirusa. Niemniej, przy wszystkich wywołanych przez nią problemach, staje się okazją do refleksji nad jakością świata wartości rodzin, nad procesem wprowadzania w nie dzieci. Wydaje się, że stwarza też szansę przypomnienia wyjątkowości roli i zadań rodziny, oraz znalezienia nowych czynników motywujących do ich podejmowania.

Family is a foundation of social and ecclesial life. So that’s why it is necessary to undertake activities for reinforcement of this basic community. This article shows that supporting of modern family begins from the parent’s education regarding their duties result from conception and giving birth, and then through pointing them out these areas of bringing up they should realize with regard to their children.

One of the basic problems of contemporary pedagogy is the need to face the chaos that has taken place in the area of axiology. It is therefore necessary to reflect on its philosophical origins, but above all, on the ways of remedying the effects it has caused. It seems necessary to return to the perception of good and evil as pedagogical categories, and to shape the ability to value.

Jednym z podstawowych problemów współczesnej pedagogiki jest konieczność zmierzenia się z chaosem, jaki zapanował w obszarze aksjologii. Konieczny jest zatem namysł nad jego filozoficznymi źródłami, ale przede wszystkim nad sposobami zaradzenia skutkom, jakie wywołał. Niezbędny wydaje się powrót do postrzegania dobra i zła jako kategorii pedagogicznych oraz kształtowania umiejętności wartościowania.

Reflection on the reality of mercy in social life, and also in the pedagogical space, leads to the question of whether the mercy is a sign of weakness and lowering of expectations, or rather a sign of fair care about the quality of life and development of the young generation. Presented article is an attempt, based on theological and pedagogical knowledge, to find answers to this key question, and to specific problems arising from it.

Refleksja nad rzeczywistością miłosierdzia w życiu społecznym, a więc także w przestrzeni pedagogicznej, prowadzi do poszukiwania odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy miłosierdzie jest oznaką słabości i rezygnacji z wymagań, czy przeciwnie – jest raczej znakiem rzetelnej troski o jakość życia społecznego i rozwój młodego pokolenia. Artykuł jest próbą poszukiwań odpowiedzi na to kluczowe pytanie i wypływające z niego problemy szczegółowe, w oparciu o wiedzę teologiczną i pedagogiczną.

Artykuł poświęcony został refleksji nad funkcjami wartości w kontekście dynamiki procesu wychowania. Ścieranie się różnorodnych poglądów filozoficznych na temat wartości w życiu człowieka rodzi na gruncie pedagogicznym konkretne, często rozbieżne koncepcje. Należy jednak pamiętać, że w centrum tych rozważań powinno zawsze stać dobro wychowanka. Dlatego nie ulega wątpliwości, że stałość systemu wartości jest gwarantem efektywności procesu wychowania prowadzącego do stawania się bardziej człowiekiem.

This article is dedicated for reflection on the function of values in the context of the dynamics of the process of education. Friction between various philosophical views about the value of human life creates specific, often divergent concepts in pedagogical approach. However, one have to remember that these considerations should always be centred on the good of the pupil. Therefore, there is no doubt that the stability of the system is a guarantee of the effectiveness of the process of the upbringing and maturation in humanity.
