In his process of development, man cannot dispense with such principal values as truth, good, justice, beauty, freedom or happiness. It is, among other things, pedagogy which speaks about that which represents each value. It says how to gain values in human life, and classifies them. It proves that some of them are authentic, others are often seemingly good, and there are also relative values. Thus the whole formative process tends to work in a pupil an ability to make a choice of that which is best among variously understood proposals. The formative process aims at a harmonious integration of the chosen values in a concrete, personal life of man. Pedagogy is thus axiologically oriented, i.e. towards values. The pupil will sooner or later be confronted with the questioning of the principal values. He will face a belief that values are essentially subjective. The man who is incessantly confronted with apparent values, must in the formative process, to which he is subjected while at school, in his family, or in another social setting, face a clear concept of absolute values, fully comprehended by him. This is linked with his aspirations to reach the top of his potentialities, of which he is aware or not. And this is nothing but putting into practice of the plans of God the Creator He has in relation to His creation. For man cannot consciously tend towards his aim which ends half way. He may not gain the top, yet he should not lose sight of it. The formative process is to serve for this end, and this is the topic of the present work.

Aim: The aim of the article is to recall the figure of Janusz Korczak, his life path, as well as his literary output. Particularly noteworthy is the dilemma he had to face in the final situation in which he – a writer, pedagogue, social activist, doctor – found himself in the German extermination camp in Treblinka on the day of his death on August 7, 1942. Methods: The comparative method was used in the article. Detailed content was articulated from the rich source material, showing the richness of Janusz Korczak’s thought and pedagogical practice. Results: As a result, the pedagogue was presented against the social and historical background of his period of life. The rich religious aspect of the pedagogue’s life, in which his extensive activities are enclosed, was also mentioned. Conclusions: The child, in terms of Korczak’s upbringing system, is a being the most important basis of whom is the right to be respected, and upbringing is a support for the child’s self-education. It is necessary to recall the figure of Janusz Korczak on a constant basis, just as Christian saints are remembered, and not without a particular reason. In both cases it is about a pattern. Also, the heroism, inherent in the pattern in both cases, is similar, if not identical. The child is constantly in mortal danger - perhaps no longer the gas chamber, but not less deadly distortions in preparation for life, in upbringing, and in the transmission of values.

Since over 2 centuries  Poland deals with the emigration problems. First, it was caused by the partitions of Poland, the national insurrections having as goal the recuperation of Poland’s independence, but mostly unsuccessful, which have caused emigration of many Poles escaping from repressions. The author wants to present the presence of Polish priest within the world Polonia centres. The article is also presenting the worship, pastoral care, and the existence of schools connected with the church, the promotion of  Polish culture, further the need of special preparation for the  mission of those priests they have to fulfil in a concrete milieu and situation. Those undertakings can not be solved by unprofessional means, because it will rather cause mistakes and bad results.

Od ponad dwu stuleci Polskę dotyka zjawisko emigracji. Powodowała ją najpierw niewola narodowa wskutek zaborów i kolejne powstania o odzyskanie utraconej niepodległości, które zazwyczaj przegrywane i w efekcie wywołujące dalsze represje zaborców wypychały tysiące Polaków na obczyznę. Treścią artykułu jest obecność kapłana wśród światowej Polonii. Omawiana jest tu także moc sprawcza kultury, duszpasterstwo wśród emigrantów. Szerokiej analizie poddane jest też zagadnienie, gdzie kościół, tam i szkoła. W rozprawie jest mowa o animowaniu kultury polskiej i obyczaju poprzez albo przy okazji opieki duszpasterskiej. Artykuł postuluje konieczność specjalnego przygotowania kapłanów do pracy w konkretnym środowisku. Zastąpienie tego przypadkowością nie tylko problemów duszpasterstwa emigracyjnego nie rozwiązuje, ale często pogłębia trapiące je schorzenia, a w rezultacie deprecjonuje jego rolę.

The Dominican order was established by St. Dominic in 1216 for the defence of faith through teaching. It played an enormous role not only directly in the life of the Universal Church, but also in the general spiritual and intellectual development. The principal end of its apostleship is to preach the glory of God and salvation of people. It is interesting to look at the history of the Dominican charisma in Poland, especially in the life of St. Dominic's spiritual daughter, the Venerable Mother Kolumba Białecka. This paper discusses therefore the history of Dominican sisters in Poland and presents Kolumba Białecka and her order-making mission against this backdrop. Then it shows the meaning of her religious name "Kolumba”, and Białecka's family home. Mother Kolumba Białecka endowed the Church with this type of religiousness tha is fulfilled in the service for neighbours through one's own striving after perfection. It is a family initiative that stems from Polish spirituality and needs. At the same time it refers to the purest patterns of Dominican spirituality. The religious order established by the Venerable Mother Kolumba Białecka is effective today not only in Poland, but it is developed in various countries on four continents.
