The paper presents an overview of the educational nanosatellite detumbling simulator used as an educational tool at AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. The simulator consists of a Helrnholtz cage and semi-spherical air bearing used with a highly configurable test article that represents the satellite performing the detumbling manoeuvre. All those elements are supplemented with their respective software tools, developed in-house. This facility is used as part of a student project, where small teams will design and implement an attitude control system for detumbling the spacecraft based on the b-dot algorithm. Theoretical and practical aspects are combined in the students' project for increasing learning effects.
