Coastal tourism and beach resorts are considered the most vulnerable tourism activities to climate change. This paper seeks to achieve two objectives: first, to examine climate change's impact on the value of tourists' experience in coastal tourism and beach resorts; Secondly, to identify the adaptation strategies applied to coastal tourism and beach resort hotels to reduce the negative effects of climate changes. A quantitative approach was adopted in this research to test the study hypotheses. Hurghada was selected as a case study. A convenience sample technique was chosen in this research to collect data from visitors of coastal tourism and beach resort hotel guests. A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed, and only 175 were returned and valid for analysis with a response rate of 70%. The findings showed that coastal tourism and beach resort hotels on the Red Sea are highly vulnerable to potential climate change risks such as floods, rising sea levels and rising temperatures. Also, the findings showed that climate changes negatively affect coastal tourism and beach resort hotels, affecting the value of the tourist experience. In addition, the results indicated that coastal tourism and beach resort hotels on the Red Sea coast in Hurghada are exposed to significant financial losses due to the threats of climate change. Beach resort hotels must be able to adapt to climate changes and mitigate their effects.

Academics have been curious about what motivates pro-environmental behaviour. However, a few research studies have been conducted to analyse and comprehend the pro-environmental behaviour of those in charge of service and production (employees). The COVID-19 outbreak highlighted this topic, emphasising the significance of employees’ pro-environmental behaviours (PEBs) in promoting and maintaining business sustainability. Therefore, this study contributes to the body of knowledge by investigating employees’ PEBs during the COVID-19 pandemic. In-person and online surveys were used to reach the staff of hotels and travel agencies in Egypt’s most popular tourist areas. The quantitative data were analysed with SPSS 25. The results revealed that employees of the tourism and hospitality industry are exceptionally engaged in PEBs in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, the findings indicate that the structure of tourism and hospitality employees’ PEB comprises six factors: operation activities, habits, organisation rules, health, energy-saving, and environment-related activities. However, their behaviour must be guided and improved in three key areas (personal health, organisational rules, and operation activities). According to this study, employees may follow certain practices without understanding their justification or significance. In practice, the study presents recommendations that might increase the industry’s resistance to challenges in improving the pro-environmental behaviour of industry employees.

The relationship between the humble behavior of leaders and the voluntary workplace green behaviors (VWGB) of their employees is critical to affecting the overall green performance of an organization, particularly in the situation of COVID-19 pandemic. Traditionally, most studies focus more on the importance of leadership effectiveness, but few research studies investigate the leadership approach and its psychological mechanisms that motivate voluntary positive behavior and the efficiency of the overall performance. Thus, the authors conceptualize a research model of humble leadership that investigates the impact of humble leadership on voluntary green behavior and green performance via job autonomy and the green supporting climate. To verify the research hypotheses, 692 online and in-person questionnaires were analyzed using Smartpls-SEM. The results showed a positive association between humble leadership and green performance, and VWGB mediates this relationship. In addition, job autonomy and green supporting climate were confirmed to mediate the association of humble leadership and VWGB; and moderate the relationship of VWGB and green performance, respectively. Notably, this study is one of the few studies in the hotel sector that look at green performance through the lens of humble leadership and VWGB.
