W artykule zostały zawarte treści dotyczące zjawiska handlu ludźmi, a dokładniej wiktymologiczych aspektów tego zjawiska. W pierwszej części zwrócono uwagę na przyczyny handlu ludźmi, rozmiar problemu (ujęcie statystyczne), formy i miejsca wykorzystania ofiar. W drugiej części podjęto zagadnienie potencjału wiktymogennego oraz przedstawiono profil socjologiczno-psychologiczny, jak i stan psychiczny kobiety – ofiary handlu ludźmi. Na końcu artykułu ukazano model pomocy ludziom, którzy zostali wykorzystani przez handlarzy współczesnych niewolników

The article concerns the issue of human trafficking. The first part shows the reasons for traffic-king, the size of the problem (a statistical approach), the form and place of the exploitation of victims. It also defines what trafficking in woman is. The second part presents the potential psychological and sociological profile as well as the psychological state of women who were abused. In the final part of the article the author highlights the need for the prevention of trafficking in women.

W artykule zostały zawarte treści dotyczące uzależnienia od telefonu komórkowego. Potraktowano je jako nowy problem społeczny i wyzwanie edukacyjne. W pierwszej części przybliżono krótką historię powstania telefonii komórkowej oraz przedstawiono przyczyny, dla których ludzie kupują telefony komórkowe. Zdefiniowano, czym jest uzależnienie infoholiczne oraz zwrócono uwagę na jego etiologię. Ukazano typowe cechy zachowania osoby uzależnionej psychicznie oraz rodzaje uzależnień od telefonu. W drugiej części zaprezentowano wyniki zarówno badań polskich, jak i zagranicznych odnośnie omawianego problemu (ujęcie statystyczne). W trzeciej części podjęto zagadnienie konsekwencji, skutków, jakie niesie za sobą cyberuzależnienie. Na końcu artykułu podkreślono konieczność prowadzenia profilaktyki uzależnień oraz zadania stojące przed edukacją, a służące bezpieczeństwu użytkowników urządzeń cyfrowych.

The article concerns a problem of mobile phone addiction. It has been treated as a new social problem and an educational challenge. The first part presents a short history of mobile phones and indicates reasons for purchasing and using these communication devices. It has also been defined what information ad-diction is, drawing attention to the etiology. This part also shows the typical features of a men-tally-addicted person’s behaviour and the types of mobile phone addiction. The second part discusses the results of Polish and foreign research related to the above-mentioned problem (a statistical approach), while the third part deals with the consequences and effects of cyber addiction. At the end of the article the author highlights the need for the prevention of the addiction and the challenges facing education, leading to the safety of users of digital devices.

W artykule prezentowane są problemy związane z wykorzystaniem przekazu podprogowego w mediach, a dokładniej, w reklamie. Ukazano na czym polega przekaz podprogowy, jak oddziałuje na konsumenta i dlaczego należy traktować go jako formę manipulacji. W drugiej części przedstawiono badania, z których wynika, że przekaz podprogowy zagraża m.in. poczuciu bezpieczeństwa widza. Zwrócono także uwagę na konieczność prowadzenia edukacji medialnej, dzięki której jednostka zostanie wyposażona w kompetencje medialne, a co za tym idzie, będzie bardziej świadoma zagrożeń płynących z mass mediów.

The article presents the issues related to the use of the subliminal message in the media, in particular in advertising. It shows how the subliminal message affects the consumer and why one should treat it as a form of manipulation. The other part of the article presents the studies which show that the subliminal message threatens the viewer’s sense of security. In addition, the article highlights the need for media education, by dint of which people will become more aware of the dangers posed by the mass media.

Gas–liquid chromatography has been used to investigate the neutral fraction obtained from the fruits of elder. The fraction contained vanillin and numerous unidentified compounds. Identities are suggested for some of these compounds.

Combination of solid-phase microextraction with gas chromato-graphy enables rapid, repeated analysis of organic compounds in water. Fluazifop-p-butyl (FPB) (propanoic acid 2-[4-[[5-(trifluoromethyl)-2-py-ridinyl]oxy]phenoxy] butyl ester) is the active substance in the herbicide Fusilade. Samples of distilled water were spiked with FPB in the laboratory and the analyte was isolated from the water by solid-phase microextraction on a polydimethylsiloxane fibre. Optimum conditions (time, temperature, stirring, pH) were found for extraction of FPB from the water matrix. Limit of detection, standard curve calibration, and range of concentration in which detector response was linear were determined. Suitable conditions for chromatographic analysis were also determined.

The tetrahydrophthalic ester of prednisolone C29H36O8, which is used as a anti-inflammatory drug, consists of two diastereoisomers. This paper describes the effect of addition of optically active compounds (amino acids, cyclodextrin, camphosulphonic acid) on the capacity ratios, k', and separation factors, ?, of these diastereoisomers in TLC and HPLC.

Gas chromatography has been used for identification of fatty acids in the leaves of elder and dandelion, in the fruits of elder, and in the roots of dandelion. Acid fractions were isolated by formation of insoluble salts or by ion exchange; methyl esters were then prepared. Some of the acids identified have not previously been reported as constituents of these tissues of elder (e.g. succinic acid, nonanedioic acid) or dandelion (e.g. 5-oxoproline, 9-oxononanoic acid), although some have already been found in other parts of the plants (e.g. in the flowers).
