Misja profesji architektów krajobrazu i procesu ich kształcenia, nabiera kapitalnej roli w warunkach transformacji. Wzrasta zapotrzebowanie na kształtowanie przestrzeni o wysokich standardach krajobrazowych, a jednocześnie narastają zagrożenia wartości krajobrazowych ze strony brutalnych inwestorów i niekompetentnych władz. Architekci krajobrazu napotykają ignorancję społeczeństwa i blokadę pozycji zawodowej ze strony architektów, zazdrosnych o konkurencję. Kapitalnym czynnikiem zawodu i edukacji AK jest wielodyscyplinarność, w tym projektowanie zintegrowane. AK jest wyrazem wysokiej kultury. Formalne fundamenty wykonywania zawodu architekta krajobrazu w Polsce nie są ustabilizowane. Pluralizm nauczania w uczelniach przyrodniczo-rolniczych i w politechnikach, tworzy atrakcyjne spektrum absolwentów. Interesujące jest wyważenie pomiędzy etosem przyrodniczym - rodem ze sztuki ogrodowej, oraz budowlanym - rodem z architektury. Nauczanie na tym kierunku jest szczególnie wielodyscyplinarne, wyrazistym przykładem jest projektowanie zintegrowane. Praca nauczycielska nad przyszłymi adeptami wymaga prócz ścisłego nauczania zawodu - także intensywnej pracy nad profilem osobowości absolwentów.

The mission of the landscape architects' profession and of the process of teaching them gains a major significance under the transformation conditions. The demand for shaping spaces of high landscape standards increases, while, at the same time, there is a growing threat to landscape values from brutal investors and incompetent authorities. Landscape architects face the ignorance of society, and their professional position is blocked by architects, who are envious of competitors. The fundamental factor in the landscape architect's profession and education is multidisciplinarity. Landscape architecture is an expression of a high culture. Formal foundations of practising the profession of a landscape architect in Poland are not stabilised. The pluralism of teaching in nature and agriculture schools, as well as in technical universities creates an attractive spectrum of graduates. What is interesting is the balance between the natural ethos (derived from the art of gardening) and the building ethos (derived from architecture). Teaching landscape architecture is especially multidisciplinary, with integrated designing being a distinctive example of that. The work of a teacher on future novice landscape architects requires - in addition to a rigorous teaching them profession - also an intensive work on their personality profiles.

Wiedza, inwencja i wyobraźnia to kluczowe aspekty determinujące wybór tematów i programu kursów prowadzonych przez autorkę. Obejmują gospodarkę przestrzenną, architekturę i architekturę krajobrazu. Wyrażają się w formie wielodyscyplinarnych prac kursowych i warsztatowych. Inspiracją są: sztuka konceptualna, sztuka ziemi, performance i sztuka instalacji. Studenci są szkoleni w pracy indywidualnej i zespołowej, uczą się współzawodniczyć i myśleć krytycznie. Istotą jest idea rozwoju zrównoważonego i system śladów ekologicznych, jako miara rozwoju w kierunku zrównoważonej architektury krajobrazu. Przykłady dobrano tak, aby ukazać wypełnianie potrzeb miasta i regionu.

Knowledge, invention and responsibility are the key aspects, which determine the choice of topics and the programme of the classes run by the author. Courses in land management, architecture and landscape architecture are assessed through multidisciplinary term projects and workshops, inspired by conceptual art, land art, performance and installation art. The point is the concept of sustainable development and the system of ecobonuses for measuring progress toward sustainable landscape architecture. Samples are chosen to show the interest in the needs of the city and the region.

Formalne fundamenty wykonywania zawodu architekta krajobrazu w Polsce nie są ustabilizowane. Pluralizm nauczania w uczelniach przyrodniczo-rolniczych i w politechnikach, tworzy atrakcyjne spektrum absolwentów. Interesujące jest wyważenie pomiędzy etosem przyrodniczym - rodem ze sztuki ogrodowej, oraz budowlanym - rodem z architektury. Nauczanie na tym kierunku jest szczególnie wielodyscyplinarne, wyrazistym przykładem jest projektowanie zintegrowane. Praca nauczycielska nad przyszłymi adeptami wymaga prócz ścisłego nauczania zawodu - także intensywnej pracy nad profilem osobowości absolwentów.

Architektura krajobrazu należy do najstarszych dziedzin zawodowych i dziedzin nauczania, sięga do prehistorii. Pojęcie architektura krajobrazu powstało w XIX wieku, a jego zasięg i ranga ulegają stałemu rozwojowi. Edukacja architektury krajobrazu rozwinęła się w XIX wieku w USA; w Polsce międzywojennej osiągnęła wysokie wartości. Po wojnie w środowisku warszawskim i krakowskim dziedzina ta jest doskonalona; wyróżniono 4 etapy jej ewolucji. Obecnie zapowiada się wzrost powodzenia tej dziedziny, również na ziemiach polskich - gdzie trwają intensywne prace nad doskonaleniem programów nauczania i ich realizacji.

Landscape architecture belongs to the oldest vocational disciplines and fields of education, dating back to the ancient history. The notion of landscape architecture appeared in the 19th century, and its extent and rank develop continuously. Landscape architecture education developed in the 19th century in the USA, reaching very high values in the pre-war Poland. After World War II, the field has been improved in the scholarly circles of Warsaw and in Kraków, and four stages of its evolution were distinguished. Presently, the prospects of landscape architecture are very good, also in Poland, where there are intensiva works on the improvement of syllabuses and the implementation thereof.
