In the article, the authors describe, using the example of a selected class of technical means, their concept of replacing the “classical” linear management (exploitation) model with a circular economy (CE) model. An example of an object for which the authors plan to test the feasibility of the concept presented above is a household washing machine driven by a DC motor. The description of this object included in the article considers its complexity and multiplicity of assemblies, sub-assemblies, and elements. The DC electric motor driving the washing machine was considered the most important from the point of view of the created model, especially in terms of the possibility of maintenance and repair. For such an engine, the article presents the maintenance and disposal model as elements of the concept of building a ‘circular’ business model. The authors assumed that the formal basis for such a model would be the so-called circular model. The methodology and plan of the research carried out at Super Asia washing machine company in Pakistan were introduced, and the research results were shown. With the use of these results, an attempt was made to assess the requirements that the application of the CE business model places on manufacturers of a selected class of devices, both in their manufacture, repair, sharing and dematerialization. The concept of further research is described at the end of the article.

Today, polymeric composites are mostly used in statically loaded rather than dynamic load-bearing parts in machines. Their light weightiness, durability, relatively low prices, flexibility in their use, and fast production features constantly have been opening new ways for their use. In this study, the design, analysis, and experimental verification of a short glass fiber reinforced polyamide + polyphthalamide hybrid polymer machine part functioning under dynamically varying loads and harsh chemical and heated environments is presented. One such machine part is a washing machine drum support to which no composite material had ever been applied successfully before, as known to the authors. The study shows that at least 50% short glass fiber reinforcement, long term polymeric material mechanical properties as well as certain geometric stiffening modifications have been applied for this composite part to function as an equivalent cast aluminum alloy part.

Using the example of washing machines using the linear theory of vibrations, the dynamics of horizontal rotary drum machines is investigated and the basic requirements for their layout are formulated to reduce vibration activity. The mathematical equations of vibrations of the multiply connected system tub-drum on elastic suspensions are compiled for main types of washing machines and centrifuges with horizontal axis of rotation. The problem is solved in a linear setting based on the Lagrange equation of the second kind. The accuracy and adequacy of the mathematical model was tested directly on a full-scale object by measuring noise, vibrations, support forces and stress distribution in individual elements and units of the washing machine in the entire range of drum rotation frequencies. Investigations of the nature of system vibrations depending on changes in the position and attachment points of elastic and damping elements were carried out using simulation in the Simulink environment. As a result of the research, the basic requirements for the layout of horizontal rotary drum machines were experimentally confirmed. Experimental verification was carried out to confirm the results obtained. It has been experimentally proven that the improvement of the experimental setup to reduce its vibration activity increases the efficiency of using direct-acting liquid autobalancers.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie na przykładzie pralki automatycznej możliwych do zastosowania kryteriów decyzyjnych w zagospoda-rowaniu produktów niepełnowartościowych. Do zdefiniowania kryteriów posłużono się zestawem praktykowanych sposobów zagospodarowania zwrotów, oraz ich konsekwencjami ekonomicznymi i ekologicznymi. Wybory rozpatrywano z punktu widzenia producenta pralek. Dokonano klasyfikacji sposobów zagospodarowania pralki do grup strategii według oceny z perspektywy ekonomicznej i ekologicznej. W analizie posłużono się prostą analizą kosztową oraz oceną cyklu życia dla identyfikacji oddziaływań środowiskowych.

The objective of the paper is to use example of washing machine to present possible strategies in returned product handling. The decision making criteria are based on the business sector practices and their economic and environmental consequences. The strategies are considered from manufacturer perspective. Basing on the economic and environmental indicators some strategies of returned washing machine handling are defined. Simple cost analysis and life cycle assessment methods are used in the study.

In the paper the newly designed at Poznan University of Technology (PUT) washing machine controller is presented. The commonly used in washing machines sensors, drives and other input-output elements are briefly described. The designed at PUT controller is based on 32-bit STM32 microcontroller. The used in this controller modules are described and their input/output signals and basics of operations are presented. The developed in the controller user-machine communication devices, elements and methods are described. The paper presents new washing machine programming methods and implementation software, such as voice recognition and intelligent programming of washing machine that were applied in the new controller.

W artykule opisano pokrótce rolę amortyzatorów ciernych w konstrukcji bębnowej maszyny wirnikowej na przykładzie klasycznej pralki domowej oraz ich wpływ na przenoszenie wibracji między bębnem a podstawą urządzenia. W dalszej części artykułu opisano możliwości zastosowania amortyzatorów ciernych o zmiennej sile tłumienia w celu dostosowania siły tłumienia do aktualnych warunków pracy urządzenia. W artykule zaproponowano autorską konstrukcję tłumika ciernego o regulowanej sile tłumienia za pomocą silnika prądu stałego. Przestawiono analizę transmisji siły w konstruowanym tłumiku oraz zaproponowano metodę sterowania. W artykule zweryfikowano założenia konstrukcyjne oraz wytrzymałość kluczowych elementów. Zaproponowany amortyzator może być stosowany w celu minimalizacji drgań obudowy bębnowych urządzeń wirnikowych.

Article describes shortly the role of friction dampersin construction of drum type rotating machines based as an example on the classic domestic washing machine. The phenomenon of force transmission between rotating drum and device chassis was also included. The applicability of friction force dampers with variable force regulation has been also described in order to adjust the optimal amount of attenuation force based on actual working condition of device. Articles presents author’s design friction damper with variable damping force using electromechanical method based on the DC motor. The force transmission analysis in designed construction has been presented and the method of force controlling has been proposed.

The paper deals with vibrations of the washing machine Samsung WF0804. The motion equations of the washing machine drum were derived. The vibration of the drum caused by the unbalanced mass was examined. The presented analysis will make up the basis for experimental studies aimed at validating the theoretical model and finding the most effective way of balancing of the drum vibration.

Artykuł przedstawia możliwość zastosowania technologii MEMS przy pomiarach wibracji bębna maszyny wirującej przez jej sterownik na przykładzie klasycznej pralki. W artykule przedstawiono pokrótce samą technologię MEMS pod kątem pomiarów akcelerometrycznych oraz omówiono zjawisko powstawania siły niewyrównoważenia wirującego bębna pralki, którą to akcelerometr ma zmierzyć. W drugiej części artykułu przedstawiono wyniki porównania pomiarów drgań wirującego bębna za pomocą sensora MEMS oraz klasycznego piezoelektrycznego akcelerometru pomiarowego. Wyniki badań udowadniają tezę o potencjalnej możliwości zastosowania technologii MEMS w gałęzi przemysłu jaką są konstrukcje urządzeń AGD - w szczególności pralek.

Paper introduce possibilities of MEMS technology application for measurement of the rotating drum vibration in washing machine construction. The MEMS technology has been shortly presented and focused on its acceleration measurement aspects. Also generation of the unbalance force in washing machine drum has been considered. In the second part of the paper the results of the experimental comparison of the classic piezoelectric and MEMS sensors has been presented and discussed.

The vibration of a drum of the washing machine Samsung WF0804 caused by the unbalanced mass attached to the rotating unit was examined. The motion equations of the washing machine drum were derived. The stand for experimental measurement was presented. The numerical results were compared with experimental measurements. General conclusions were mode. The analysis will make up the basis for experimental studies aimed at finding the most effective way of balancing drum vibrations.

The paper presents a comparison of two methods of balancing a washing machine, oni with free balls and the other with liquid. For both of them the physical and mathematica models are presented. The distribution of clothes in the washing machine is random and i is not possible to predict the dynamic forces. It is shown that the use of liquid cannot givi good results because only a part of the washing machine can be counterbalanced. In the case of using ball balancers, the washer's vibration can be completely balanced. The reason that the balls or liquid change their positions with respect to the basket is shown.

Celem pracy jest zaproponowanie rozwiązania problemu technicznego zgłoszonego przez jednego z producentów pralek automatycznych. Dotyczy on lepszego wykorzystania detergentów w pralkach. Obecne rozwiązanie nie zapewnia całkowitego wykorzystała środka piorącego przez pralkę, co powoduje utratę części detergentów dostarczanych do bębna. Zmniejsza to efektywność i jakość prania, a zarazem przyczynia się do zwiększenia ilości proszku niezbędnego do wyprania określonej ilości wsadu. Problem rozpatrzono pod względem przebudowy zbiornika prania, jak również zmniejszenia energochłonności pralki. Zaprezentowane rozwiązanie charakteryzuje się mniejszym zapotrzebowaniem na detergenty oraz mniejszą energochłonnością. Istota unowocześnienia polega na zastosowaniu dodatkowego zaworu odcinającego pływakowego w układzie wodnym pralki. Pływak zaworu przesterowuje się samoczynnie pod działaniem siły wyporu wody, nie wymaga zewnętrznego źródła zasilania.

The aim of this thesis is finding a solution for a technical problem reported by one of the producers of washing machines. The project deals wilh Ihe underefficient usage of de-Irergenl supplied lo a washing machinę during washing. Presently, Ihe solution does not provide the optima l destribulion of the washing agent. So far, Ihe construction of a washing machinę causes the loss of some washing agent that is supplied lo the washing chamber. It hinders both the efficiency and the quality of washing and therefore increases the demand for washing agent nedded to wash a particular amount of clothes. The problem has been invastigated conceming Ihe rebuilding of the dosing system and the washing chamber as well as decrease the demand for energy and washing agent. The creature of modemization depends on use of additional valve the finishing off cutting in water arrangement of washing machinę. It changes self - actively under working strength of water. It doesn't require the external source of power supply.

Content available remote The effects of washing conditions on soil removal in domestic laundering processes

In the domestic laundering process, relatively high wash temperatures and long wash times have traditionally been used for optimum soil removal. The use of lower wash temperatures could result in a substantial reduction in the amount of energy used in laundering. The purpose of this study was to determine soil removal from cotton, polyester, polyester/cotton, wool and wool/polyester fabrics at a range of wash temperatures, wash times, pre-wash times and liquor ratios. The samples were soiled with sebum, coke, instant coffee, sour cherry juice and meat sauce. Soil removal was determined by the differences between remission values of fabrics before and after washing. Optimum temperature and times for soil removal was estimated for all soils and fabrics.
