In the presented work, two multicomponent Cr25Zr25Co20Mo15Si10Y5 and Cr25Co25Zr20Mo15Si10Y5 alloys were produced from bulk chemical elements using the vacuum arc melting technique. X-ray diffraction phase analysis was used to determine the phase composition of the obtained materials. Microstructure analysis included scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy techniques. The studies revealed the presence of multi-phase structures in both alloys. Elemental distribution maps confirmed the presence of all six alloying elements in the microstructure. The segregation of chemical elements was also observed. Microhardness measurement revealed that both alloys exhibited microhardness from 832(27) to 933(22) HV1.

The paper presents the results of the application of a statistical analysis to evaluate the effect of the chemical composition of the die casting Al-Si alloys on its basic mechanical properties. The examinations were performed on the hypoeutectic Al-Si alloy type EN AC-46000 and, created on its basis, a multi-component Al-Si alloy containing high-melting additions Cr, Mo, W and V. The additions were introduced into the base Al-Si alloy in different combinations and amounts (from 0,05% to 0,50%). The tensile strength Rm; the proof stress Rp0,2; the unit elongation A and the hardness HB of the examined Al-Si alloys were determined. The data analysis and the selection of Al-Si alloy samples without the Cr, Mo, W and V additions were presented; a database containing the independent variables (Al-Si alloy's chemical composition) and dependent variables (Rm; Rp0,2; A and HB) for all the considered variants of Al-Si alloy composition was constructed. Additionally, an analysis was made of the effect of the Al-Si alloy's component elements on the obtained mechanical properties, with a special consideration of the high-melting additions Cr, Mo, V and W. For the optimization of the content of these additions in the Al-Si alloy, the dependent variables were standardized and treated jointly. The statistical tools were mainly the multivariate backward stepwise regression and linear correlation analysis and the analysis of variance ANOVA. The statistical analysis showed that the most advantageous effect on the jointly treated mechanical properties is obtained with the amount of the Cr, Mo, V and W additions of 0,05 to 0,10%.

The activity of Bi in dilute Cu-Ni-Sn-Bi alloys has been determined by the method of equilibrium saturation with metal vapour at T= 1398, 1448 and 1473 K. As the method of equilibrium saturation is a comparative one, it is necessary to have an appropriate reference mixture. The Cu-Bi alloy was accepted as the reference mixture. The interaction parameters εBi/Bi, εBi/Bi and εBi/Bi were determined by the least squares method.

Aktywność bizmutu w ciekłych rozcieńczonych stopach Cu-Ni-Sn-Bi w temperaturze T=1398, 1448 i 1473K wyznaczono porównawczą metodą równowagowego nasycania, stosując stop Cu-Bi jako roztwór wzorcowy. Parametry oddziaływania εBi/Bi, εBi/Bi i εBi/Bi wyznaczono metodą najmniejszych kwadratów.

Stopy na osnowie uporządkowanych faz międzymetalicznych z układu Ti-Al stanowią atrakcyjny, lekki materiał konstrukcyjny nowej generacji do wysokotemperaturowych zastosowań ze względu na niską gęstość, wysoką wytrzymałość właściwą oraz dobrą żaroodporność i odporność na pełzanie. Stopy te mogą być produkowane z wykorzystaniem technologii stosowanych w przypadku konwencjonalnych stopów tytanu. Większość stopów na osnowie faz międzymetalicznych stwarza bardzo duże trudności związane z procesem ich wytwarzania i przetwarzania oraz wykazuje niską plastyczność i związaną z tym niską technologiczną plastyczność oraz małą odporność na kruche pełzanie. Opisano podstawy technologii i strukturalne aspekty wytwarzania elementów konstrukcyjnych wykonanych z wieloskładnikowych stopów na osnowie faz międzymetalicznych z układu Ti-Al drogą topienia, odlewania, przeróbki plastycznej i obróbki cieplnej.

The alloys based on ordered intermetallic phases from the Ti-Al system are attractive, new generation light structural materials for high-temperature applications due to their low density, high specific strength as well as good heat- and creep resistance. These alloys can be produced by the technologies applied for conventional titanium alloys. Their potential applications are: combustion engine valves, turbo-compressor rotors, gas turbine elements and blades, etc. Majority of the alloys based on intermetallic phases cause serious difficulties during their production and processing. They show low plasticity and, consequently, low technological plasticity and low brittle cracking resistance. This paper describes fundamentals of technology and structural aspects of the production of structural elements made of multi-component alloys based on intermetallic phases from the Ti-Al system by melting, casting, plastic working and heat treatment.
