Main principles grounds of the method of discrete vortices are outlined. The results obtained by means the method are presented. These results show that the method of discrete vortices can serve as a basis of computer-aided approaches in aerohydrodynamic. The classic problems (Karman street, Prandtl starting vortex, etc.) to be solved using this method are given, as well as the problems of flows past wings and a hypothetical, test aircraft. It is shown that the order of computational scheme should depend on the problem under consideration: the more complicated problem is demands the higher order of computational scheme is required. Solutions to the problems of flows past aircraft of modern aerodynamic configurations, including the aircraft with the operating power unit are presented. The spin simulation of sport airplane illustrates the possibility of simultaneous solution to the aerodynamic and dynamic problems. The results of simulation of flows past a number of aircraft under consideration are shown. The possibility of calculation of the aircraft wake vortices using the method of discrete vortices is shown along with the calculation results. The results obtained prove that the wake vortex strength depends also on the aircraft aerodynamic configuration.

W pracy omówiono metodę dyskretnych wirów typu 'wirów w komórce'. W skrócie opisano algorytm pozwalający wykorzystać metodę do modelowania dwuwymiarowych przepływów cieczy lepkiej w obszarze o złożonej geometrii. Podano przykłady wyników numerycznych dla kanału z nagłym, symetrycznym rozszerzeniem.

In was described the vortex in cell method which can be utilize to the study of the two dimensional viscous flow in the channels with complex geometry. It was described shortly the capacitance method that perimt for using the fast elliptic solvers for the complex geometry.
