Reduction of ecological risks of shipping is a challenging task that requires methods of legislative and regulatory control, organizational measures, and technical and technological support. Furthermore, the matter concerns not only the reduction of possible risks but also the level of existing impact on the marine environment because of exhaust gas emissions by ships, discharge of waste and ballast water, as well as control of ecological consequences of accidents. The purpose of this study is to analyse possible sources of environmental impact during ship operation cycles, identify significant risks, review existing potentials to reduce the risk of ship accidents and their environmental consequences, and develop solutions to existing problems. This study offers results, which can serve as the initial basis for the formation of comprehensive measures on the reduction of environmental risks, and consequences of possible accidents for the environment caused by ships and international shipping.

The integration of Ukraine’s economy into the European space requires the dynamic and balanced development of all its sectors, especially the transport sector. The purpose of the research is to identify the factors related to transport entrepreneurship that affect the economic development of Ukraine, in particular regarding the formation of added value (gross regional product). The paper presents the author’s definition of transport entrepreneurship as an independent, systematic, and risky entrepreneurial activity in providing transport services. The results revealed a negative trend in the formation of the added value of the transport enterprises of Ukraine, both in terms of value and as a percentage of GDP. This prompted the authors to determine the factors affecting the formation of gross added value (gross regional product) by transport enterprises of Ukraine to further develop proposals aimed at their activation. Four models were created in the first stage of the research to achieve the goal. These models are based on gross regional product in transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities; gross regional product in transport, warehousing, and postal and courier activities per capita; gross value added in transport, warehousing, and postal and courier activities; and gross value added in transport, warehousing, and postal and courier activities per capita. In the second stage of the research, the fifth model with the highest correlation coefficients was built, which made it possible to identify the factors of negative and positive influence on the formation of gross added value (gross regional product) by transport enterprises in Ukraine. Based on the results, a number of measures are proposed to stimulate factors of positive influence and neutralize negative influence. The proposed tools for identifying the factors related to transport entrepreneurship that affect the economic development of Ukraine can serve as markers for the formation of the country’s post-war strategy in the field of transport entrepreneurship.

Time is one of the main factors, and it affects the decision of costumers while choosing a particular transportation company. Every stage of logistics processes takes a particular period. That is why almost every firm thinks about the ways of decreasing the time wastes in order to maximize the profit of business. The objective of this research is to explore how different logistics innovations can affect freight transportation processes and save operational time. To achieve this goal and explore the topic more deeply, a list of articles published in worldwide databases related to this domain was analyzed and interpreted. The survey on freight transportation was used to get a better knowledge of today’s situation of freight systems. Based on the result of this article, it is suggested that new ideas for the management of companies in this sphere are suggested. The findings of this research can help Kazakhstan’s logistics companies to develop better strategies and to adopt innovative logistics technologies into freight transportation. They can make them become innovation-based logistics service providers.

Czas jest jednym z głównych czynników i wpływa na decyzję klientów przy wyborze konkretnej firmy transportowej. Każdy etap procesów logistycznych zajmuje określony okres. Właśnie dlatego prawie każda firma myśli o sposobach zmniejszenia marnotrawstwa czasu w celu maksymalizacji zysku firmy. Celem tych badań jest zbadanie, w jaki sposób różne innowacje logistyczne mogą wpłynąć na procesy transportu towarów i zaoszczędzić czas operacyjny. Aby osiągnąć ten cel i głębiej zgłębić ten temat, przeanalizowano i zinterpretowano listę artykułów opublikowanych w światowych bazach danych związanych z tą domeną. Ankieta dotycząca transportu towarowego została wykorzystana, aby uzyskać lepszą wiedzę na temat dzisiejszej sytuacji systemów towarowych. Na podstawie wyników tego artykułu sugeruje się nowe pomysły dotyczące zarządzania przedsiębiorstwami w tej dziedzinie. Wyniki tych badań mogą pomóc Kazachstanom w logistyce w opracowaniu lepszych strategii i zastosowaniu innowacyjnych technologii logistycznych w transporcie towarów. Mogą sprawić, że staną się dostawcami usług logistycznych opartych na innowacjach.

The article deals with the modified Dijkstra’s algorithm of searching the shortest routes between all transport nodes of the road-transport network, which allows presenting the transport problem in the classical matrix form. This makes it possible to apply each of the known methods of optimal transport plans to solve it. The object of study is the transport process of freight transportation on the transport network by routes of international transport corridors. The purpose of the work is to improve the methods of solving the problems of finding the shortest routes on the transport network, including sections of international transport corridors. The research method is the analysis and modeling of freight transportation on road networks. The modified Dijkstra’s algorithm of finding the shortest paths between all nodes of the road-transport network was work out, which allows to represent the transport problem in the classical matrix form, i.e. in the form of a table of connections. This makes it possible to apply each of the known methods of constructing optimal plans of cargo transportation in the table of connections. The software complex based on the developed algorithm was designed in the algorithmic language Delphi, which was tested on the example of a transport problem set in the form of a road network, as well as complex testing and debugging of a computer system to support decision-making on the optimization of freight traffic on Ukrainian and Western Europe transport systems.

W artykule przedstawiono unijne i narodowe prognozy przewozowe ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem samochodowego transportu ciężarowego. Poruszono kwestię zmian popytu na przewozy transportem lądowym w różnych regionach świata, na obszarze Unii Europejskiej oraz w niektórych krajach unijnych takich jak: Francja, Niemcy, Belgia i Holandia. Opisano również prognozy pracy przewozowej towarowego transportu lądowego w perspektywie roku 2030 i roku 2050 w Polsce. W dziedzinie prognoz dotyczących polskiego transportu towarowego oparto się o źródła polskie, niemieckie oraz pochodzące z Komisji Europejskiej.

The article presents the EU’s and national transport forecasts, with particular emphasis on freight road transport. The issue of changes in demand for the land transport in various regions of the world, in the European Union and in some EU countries, such as: France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, was discussed. The forecasts of the haulage transport of freight land transport till 2030 and 2050 in Poland, were also described. In the field of Polish freight transport forecasts, the authors used Polish, German and European sources.

Previous research on port efficiency focuses primarily on the provider’s perspective and assumes that maximizing the output is always desirable. This paper recognizes that maximizing the final output does not necessarily guarantee an efficient system and the notion of port efficiency and service effectiveness needs to be considered from the perspectives of both the provider and the consumer of the port service. The paper proposes a network-DEA model to evaluate the performances of 30 seaports worldwide. The concurrent consideration of efficiency scores from the network-DEA model and the traditional DEA-CCR model will offer valuable insights to port operators on how to improve port performances as part of a seaborne cargo supply chain.
