The Lempuk fish (Gobiopterus spp.) is a kind of fish that is exclusively found and inhabits the Ranu Grati area in Pasuruan Regency. The Lempuk fish is a prominent tourist attraction and is frequently targeted for fishing due to its significant economic significance. This leads to excessive exploitation, resulting in population decline and posing a threat to its sustainability. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the abundance and type of plankton, as well as its relationship with the study of stomach contents, to gather supporting data for future domestication efforts. The sampling was conducted three times, with a two-week gap, at five distinct sites. The research employed a quantitative-descriptive approach and the sampling a purposive sample technique. The research findings revealed the presence of four distinct classes with 20 different species in the phytoplankton community, as well as four distinct classes with 12 genera in the zooplankton community. The study of stomach conten this fish shows, primary diet of this fish, as shown by their propenderence index, consists of phytoplankton from the Asterionella species and zooplankton from the Daphnia genus.

We performed snow tracking of brown bear (Ursus arctos) in the area of the Eastern Carpathians affected by supplementary feeding during the winter periods from 2007 to 2013. On each snow track we recorded all food habits and collected all scats. From these data we calculated occurrence frequency of food habits on snow tracks, occurrence frequency, volumetric proportion and energy values of food items in scats. We revealed that: i) the most frequent food source on snow tracks was corn from supplementary feeding places for ungulates (FOST = 64%); ii) crops for ungulates was the most important food group found in scat samples of bears (EDEC = 61%, EDECST = 53%); iii) the analysis of the inter-seasonal (late autumn, winter and early spring) changes in winter bear diet based on scat analyses revealed decreasing importance of hard mast and fruit, and increasing importance of invertebrates, herbs and wood biomass and crops for ungulates from autumn to spring; iv) bears searched for food at lower elevations in comparison to the location of their beds which are situated at higher elevations. Winter bear activity and bear diet was affected by supplementary feeding for ungulates.

Zmiana nawyków żywieniowych i wzorca spożycia jest koniecznym warunkiem poprawy zdrowia polskiego społeczeństwa. Dlatego przedstawiono propozycję dwóch wariantów (tańszego i droższego) modelu wyżywienia ludności Polski w 2005 r., uwzględniającego cele i zalecenia żywieniowe.

The changes of food habits and the present food consumption pattern is the crucial issue for the improvement of health of Polish population. Hence, the proposal of food consumption pattern (in two versions: of low and high cost) in Poland in 2005 is presented, which respects current dietary goals and guidelines. The long-term trends in food consumption in Poland and dietary customs also were taken into consideration. Moreover, the assumption was made that food supply would be at least sufficient. The proposed food consumption pattern was compared to average food consumption and to the projection of demand for food for 2005. Additionally, the nutritional value of this pattern was evaluated.
