Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) opracowane zgodnie z zasadami Six Sigma do wprowadzania usprawnień w przemyśle. Przedstawiono zastosowanie metody DMAIC do podnoszenia jakości procesów sprzedaży. Procesy sprzedaży powiązane są z procesami produkcyjnymi i pełnią kluczowe funkcje w przedsiębiorstwie: utrzymanie właściwych relacji z klientami, pozyskanie nowych klientów oraz zapewnienia komunikacji pomiędzy klientem a działem technicznym oraz działem produkcji podczas realizacji zamówienia.

Obecnie w różnych dziedzinach życia, również w przemyśle, zaobserwowano coraz większe zainteresowanie zagadnieniami związanymi z metodą usprawniania procesów SIX SIGMA. Podjęto decyzję, aby także podczas produkcji łożysk ślizgowych do turbin parowych przeprowadzić konstrukycjno-technologiczną analizę półfabrykatów pod względem ich różnorodności, użytych gatunków materiału, cyklu dostawy oraz czasu związanego z dalszym przebiegiem procesu produkcyjnego łożysk. Aby z istniejących procesów wyłonić proces optymalny dla półfabrykatu do łożysk ślizgowych, poddano je badaniom metodą SIX SIGMA.

Author's research on the world's largest corporations shows that TQM is among the most commonly used management concepts. Management through quality is most popular with companies in Western Europe (54.5%) and the USA (53.8%). The methods of TQM application vary and depend on the company's size and market situation. The long-established companies generally apply the TQM concept without any major modifications while economic entities achieving spectacular profitability and productivity levels prefer using the concept to create unique own solutions.

The comparison of six sigma strategy within e.g. TQM principles or philosophy, and then - quality systems based on ISO family standards, is not so useful. Starting point is here a new quality definition formulated as: "right to value". It means that a customer expects from product the certain level of values, a group of product features or characteristics, for which can and wants pay a sum of money. The performance is based on cycle DMAIC: define-measure-analyze-improve and control. Therefore the high quality product must to fulfil the manufacturer's requirements as well (e.g. related to costs). It's important in all aspects of consideration.

The six sigma means, that in one million of operations realized during the manufacturing of a product, the indicator of inconformities will be max 3-4 pieces. This methodology forms a part of TQM, although is more to quality of products oriented and not so strongly to the human factor. The model of performance, applied here, bases on DMAIC determination: define, measure, analyse, improve and control, what is to the Deming Circle P-D-C-A related. The committment and real support of top executives, starting from the main director or president to "bottom or down", is needed obviously. The introduction of 6 sigma methodology causes the corporative culture changes. The organizational and political factor must be used, because the lower level of personal should understand the performance and goals assumed, participating honestly in the realization of objectives. It has 2 aspects: customer orientation, including supplier orientation as well, and traning of people, with internal communication, teamwork and so on. The consideration of CTQ and CTC factors (critical to quality and critical to cost) has appropriate influence on analyzed processes. The project management, selection and its cntena, are in the performance applied too.

The concept of six sigma is one of the most interesting pragmatic methodologies, leading to the improvement of profitability in all companies used its appriopriately. It bases on quality performance, considering 3-4 defects per milion opportunities (DPMO). This approach is as MAIC system determined (Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control), very similar to the Deming circle.The establishment of Six Sigma-Teams starts the activity in enterprises.The sequence in education levels permits an application of sport grades, coming out from asiatic forms of defence or active fights like green belt or black belt. A correctly implemented Six Sigma method allows the improvement of profitability in companies, growth in efficiency, increasing the employee motivation, morale, pride and carreer development. So complex performance requires good leaders and not managers only. But it presents very promising effects if the reliability in its implementation is applied. All of these aspects are in the publication presented.

Dr N. Kano from Japan (Tokyo University) presented in certain time so called TQM-House. It includes in the fundaments: motivating approach, proper technology and general education level. The top of that house is the "satisfaction of customer". One of the house-column leading to this top is Six Sigma as well. Is it a specific form of performance? Or is it a different managerial technique? What common has here the MAIC (Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) or DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control)? Who is the "Black Belt"? And why the "Champion" is responsible for the succes of project? And "Quality Journal" is really a Journal or a type of QC Stories in American version? The answers is possibly to find in article presented.
