This paper presents a system for articulated object recognition. The system has been tested in the RoboCup domain [four-legged league], an international competition among autonomous dog-like robots playing soccer. Nevertheless, the proposed method does not depend on any specific domain, but is thought to be applicable to generic objects composed of rigid subparts linked by rotational and/or translational joints.

The paper introduces some ideas which are being implemented in the design of a software soccer team able to play in a RoboCup environment. A notion of a region of a player which connect the activity of a player with a part of the filed is advanced. An attempt to define a player's behaviour in the region is made. A concept of 3-level model of movement actions is introduced.

W pracy zaprezentowane są pojęcia wykorzystane przy projektowaniu drużyny symulowanych robotów grających w piłkę nożną w środowisku RoboCup. Zostało wprowadzone pojęcie regionu, które reprezentuje fragment boiska, na którym działa pojedynczy robot oraz zostały przedstawione podstawowe reguły działania robota w przypisanym mu regionie. Ponadto została opisana koncepcja trójpoziomowego modelu ruchu robota w środowisku dynamicznym.

The paper describes an approach to reinforcement multi-agent learning. Due to the domain constrains the classical immediate-reward approach is inapplicable, a delayed reward technique has been introduced. The describes the RoboCup domain used as the tested for a multi-agent system and summarizes the first, preliminary phase of experiments.
