The improvement of Kansei engineering by using the repertory grid technique

A customer-oriented approach to product development with particular consideration of emotions is represented by Kansei Engineering. Developed by Mitsuo Nagamachi, Kansei Engineering is characterized by the possibility to capture customer perceptions and to translate them into product features. In order to assess these perceptions, a semantic space is generated. For this purpose it is necessary to identify Kansei words that are gathered up through research in marketing concepts, scientific journals and service reports. This procedure though displays the disadvantage of not being able to identify all emotions referring to the investigated product. One way to improve the identification of Kansei words is Repertory Grid. The Repertory Grid technique makes it possible to gather unaltered perceptions through in-depth interviews from the direct interaction with customers. Thus, the interview phase of the Repertory Grid technique offers an improved approach to identify of Kansei words.

Artykuł prezentuje główne koncepcje zarządzania jakością kształcenia na wyższych uczelniach. Proponowane jest połączenie subiektywnych odczuć towarzyszących edukacji z metodami technicznymi w celu wspomagania procesów marketingowych. Jak wykazano w pracy, kluczowym elementem zarządzania usługami edukacyjnymi powinna być, oparte na psychologicznej teorii, inżynieria Kansei i metody analizy danych. Celem badań jest wyeliminowanie popełnianych błędów, poprawienie jakości produktu i ustawiczne doskonalenie.

Artykuł ma na celu podkreślenie użyteczności opisanej metody dla oszczędności czasu i finansów przedsiębiorstwa.

In the publication is presented a short description of the Kansei Engineering, described the packaging sector and the packane as a final product and there are put the necessary steps used in Kansei Engineering. The aim of the article is to emphasise the usefulness of this metod for saving time and company's money.

Zaprezentowano pogląd twórcy Kansei Engineering - Nagamachi oraz omówiono w skrócie 6 typów KE.

In the paper the authors presented the Kansei Engineering (KE) method which are not much known in Europe and Poland. The methodology is analyzing from the standpoint it deployment to products designing and it role in the science and relations between different discipline. In the paper the opinion of the KE author (Nagamachi) and 6 levels KE are presented.
