Selected aspects of providing quality in a steel enterprise

The most important aspect of the enterprises’ operations is the implementation of the set goals, and above all, the fulfillment of customer expectations and profit. In enterprises (including steel companies), ensuring the quality of products required by customers plays a special role. For this reason, the analyzes should be carried out from raw material acquisition through the production process to the sale of the finished product to the customer and aftersales service. The paper presents the results of research on selected elements of the quality assurance system in a steel enterprise, such as: incompatibility of supplies and products (taking into account the reasons for their formation) and the level of complaints.

Najważniejszym aspektem działalności przedsiębiorstw jest realizacja wyznaczonych celów, a przede wszystkim spełnienie oczekiwań klientów i zysk. W przedsiębiorstwach (w tym hutniczych) szczególną rolę pełni zapewnienie wymaganej przez klientów jakości produktów. Z tego względu powinny być przeprowadzane stosowane analizy od momentu pozyskania surowców przez proces produkcyjny, aż do sprzedaży gotowego produktu klientowi oraz świadczenia usług posprzedażnych. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących wybranych elementów systemu zapewnienia jakości w przedsiębiorstwie hutniczym, takich jak: niezgodności dostaw i produktów (z uwzględnieniem przyczyn ich powstawania) oraz poziom reklamacji.

Współczesne przedsiębiorstwa, których jednym z podstawowych celów jest umacnianie swojej pozycji konkurencyjnej, niejednokrotnie decydują się na podjęcie współpracy z dostawcami i odbiorcami w ramach łańcucha dostaw. Współpraca ta wymaga od każdego z podmiotów podjęcia stosownych działań w celu zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa przez poszczególne ogniwa. Z tego względu w ramach przeprowadzonych badań skoncentrowano się na kwestii zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa przez wybrane przedsiębiorstwo stanowiące jedno z ogniw łańcucha dostaw. Cel badań (przeprowadzonych za pomocą kwestionariusza ankietowego) stanowiła identyfikacja istotnych elementów bezpieczeństwa łańcucha dostaw dla przedsiębiorstwa oraz uwzględnienie ich w polityce bezpieczeństwa, a także określenie podejmowanych działań przez przedsiębiorstwo pozwalających na zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa i przeprowadzanie oceny ryzyka.

Modern enterprises that aim to strengthen their competitive position often decide to cooperate with suppliers and customers within the supply chain. This cooperation requires each of the entities to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the individual links. For this reason, as part of the research undertaken, the focus has been on ensuring the safety of a selected company being one of the links in the supply chain. The purpose of the surveys carried out with the use of a questionnaire was to identify important elements of the supply chain security for the company and to include them in the security policy, as well as to define the actions taken by the company to ensure safety and carrying out risk assessment.

Companies by working with suppliers and customers create supply chains. In order to strengthen its competitive position they pay special attention to the quality of products, because it is important for buyers. To ensure the high quality of manufactured products, the functioning of production process should be controlled by the company which allows to identify the causes of abnormalities that cause the deterioration of the quality level of products and the reduction of the resulting wastes. The article presents the identification of causes of non-conforming products from the point of view of the functioning of the supply chain. The first part shows the link between reverse logistics and quality aspects in the supply chain. The second part presents the results of studies which aim is analysis of way of location non-conforming products and their causes in selected metallurgical company. For the analysis were used indicators: total non-conforming products, useful non-conforming products and indicator of scrap. The level of these indicators is planned and monitored by the company on a monthly and annual basis.

W ramach przeprowadzonych badań poddano analizie jakość dostarczanego wsadu do przedsiębiorstwa, przyczyny klasyfikowania wyrobów jako niezgodności oraz postępowanie w przypadku wystąpienia niezgodności.

The functioning of the supply chain is based on, inter alia, providing the final customer with the final product of the appropriate a quality, therefore, each of the cells should take proper action in order to ensure it. The paper presents the principles of cooperation with suppliers in 2014-2015 year on the example of a selected steel company. The quality of the input delivered to the enterprise, the reasons for classifying products as non-compliance and the proceeding in case of non-compliance were analyzed in the study.

The factors influencing the safety state of Polish roads were taken into account the division into provinces, weather conditions and times of day.
