In his speech, delivered during a conference held at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Chief of Polish General Staff presented the viewpoint of the Polish Armed Forces and General Staff on crucial problems concerning the military dimension of NATO functioning in the recent time. He focused on issues which are of key importance and which exert the greatest influence on the Polish Armed Forces’ transformation process. These issues In elude the armed forces’ character resulting from their purpose and tasks, ability of quick reaction to new security challenges and related military capabilities which either have already been defined or which will be necessary to posses in the future if NATO is to maintain its strategic role guaranteeing security for all Member States.
