In order to protect the environment, measures to limit SO2, emission produced during combustion of solid fuel have to be taken. A dry method of desulphurisation of exhaust fumes and a method of SO2, and NOx removal in one catalytic reactor have been described. The influence of the required degree of emission control on the length and the volume of the catalyst with a monolythic support have been analysed. An example of the calculation of the mass flux of sodium sorbent (NaOH) necessary to reach the required degree of desulphurisation of exhaust fumes have been presented.
