The paper presents a method using a risk-based evaluation of development of traffic safety, which takes into account not only the causes of accidents but also the effects of accidents simultaneously. It means that the method investigates the risks associated with the accidents. The paper shows that a risk-based evaluation of the road safety can be used as a very useful tool of analysis the trends of the development of safety in road traffic.

Artykuł przedstawia metodę, w której zastosowano ocenę postępu w bezpieczeństwie ruchu, biorącą pod uwagę nie tylko przyczyny wypadków, ale jednocześnie także skutki wypadków. Oznacza to, że metoda bada ryzyko związane z wypadkami. Artykuł pokazuje, że ocena oparta na ryzyku może być bardzo użytecznym narzędziem analizy trendu w postępie bezpieczeństwa w ruchu drogowym.
