Glass as Ceramic Material.

Abstrakty
In handbooks on modern material science three groups of materials are distinguished according different chemical bond in they structure they are ceramics, metals and polymers. In this classification, glass as the material of covalentionic bonds is joint to ceramics. However glass has its strong identity and in the common meaning it is quite different material on account properties and micro and macro structure differences. Glass is homogeneous amorphous, but ceramics is heterogeneous multiphase material. Glass is obtained by melting, and glassware are formed from the liquid melt but ceramic materials are formed by plastic mass shaping or pressing of powders and their sintering. Due to this physico-chemical fundaments of glass and ceramic manufacturing processes are different. As a consequence glass and ceramics has generally separate technical and scientific literature and independent scientific and business organizations. Even so using ceramics as a term, including the glass is reasonable only in a very general considerations concerning problems common for the both materials.
