Ultrasonic machining (USM) has solved many problems of machining hard and brittle, conducting and non-conducting materials such as glass, quartz, diamond, ceramics, hard and heat-resistant alloys, porous materials like graphite, semiconductor and difficult to machine materials for the medical, aerospace, electronics, optics and automotive industries. On the precision level, USM can be used successfully for cutting and manufacturing of precise components. The objective of the present paper is to highlight the state-of-the art of hybrid and recent USM processes.

W pracy przedstawiono stan badań w zakresie USM i hybrydowych procesów wykorzystujących USM.
