Simple upper bounds for the integrated tail of the reliability function for the following classes of life distributions: IFR, IFRA, DMRL, NBU, NBUE and HNBUE are presented. These bounds are very useful for calculation of the mean time to failure of an item with prescribed accuracy, and to obtain refined upper bounds on the mean residual life function.
