Artykuł zawiera omówienie zagadnień profilaktyki i likwidacji skutków eksploatacji górniczej dla ulic zlokalizowanych na terenie miasta Rybnika, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ul. Prostej. W zarysie przedstawiono przebieg dotychczasowych napraw szkód spowodowanych działalnością górniczą i działań podjętych dla prawidłowego utrzymania nawierzchni ulic będących w zasięgu wpływów eksploatacji górniczej KWK „Chwałowice”. Szczegółowo zaprezentowano koncepcje oraz aktualny, przeznaczony do realizacji w latach 2013-1014, projekt przebudowy ul. Prostej w Rybniku – wynik współpracy jednostki samorządowej (Urzędu Miasta Rybnika) oraz przedsiębiorstwa górniczego – (KW S. A. KWK „Chwałowice”), uwzględniający interesy zainteresowanych stron.

Usually associated with damage to buildings, the issue of mining damage also affects the networks of roads and streets. Difficulties in use of roads (faults and mounds) are systematically removed by mining companies, which ultimately finance generał repairs of affected roads and modernisations forced by current engineering and functional demands. An ехатріе of cooperation between a mining company and a roadway authority is the repairs of Prosta Street in Rybnik. The entire project was led by the city authorities, whereas the mine co-funded the investment in repairs of mining damage and protection from effects of futurę mining operations. The issue of the impact of operations carried out by KWK (Hard Coal Mine) „Chwałowice” on Prosta Street is сотріех. It is a major communication route of Rybnik City, in the area of which rich hard coal deposits were surveyed. The geological structure make-up of this deposit resulted in a significant concentration of mining (typical of Cat. V mining land). The mining damage was repaired as it appeared. Since the mining shutdown in 2009 and despite the lack of mining damage, the condition of Prosta Streefs pavement has been deteriorating due to its ill adaptation to current intensity of vehicular traffic. The scheduled restart of mining (in the years 2013 to 2022) will result in effects ranging from Cat. 0 to Cat. V of mining lands. Faced with these findings, actions have been taken to reconstruct the critical length of Prosta Street. A target repair concept of Prosta Street and adjacent areas was created in 2004, and in four potential variants. In November of 2009, the Mayor of Rybnik City presented a new communication concept that included construction of a detour for the critical length of Prosta Street. As an effect of cooperation between the City and the mine, the most favourable solution variant of the project was chosen in July of 2012 and the design and cost estimate documents were approved. The investment scheduled for the year 2013 and involving construction of a new communication system is an ехатріе of cooperation between commune authorities and a mining business that allows reaching a common goal.
