This paper demonstrates that the fall of big industrial plants lika Bethlehem Steel Corporation may constitute an opportunity to change the local economic strategy and to secure sustainable development of the town. Revitalisation of this area constitutes a very good example of skilful cooperation of private and public entities while working on the transformation of a degraded space.

Wnioski z badań wskazują, iż upadek dużych zakładów przemysłowych jak Bethlehem Steel Corporation może być okazją do zmiany strategii gospodarczej i zapewnienia miastu zrównoważonego rozwoju. Rewitalizacja tych obszarów jest bardzo dobrym przykładem umiejętnej współpracy podmiotów prywatnych i publicznych w przekształcaniu zdegradowanej przestrzeni.
