This paper deals with a mathematical tool of the calculation of the power conducting and switching losses in the 3-phase transistor inverter working in the sinusoidal PWM regime. The method also allows a very simple calculation of the whole RMS value of the output line-line unipolar voltage of the inverter. The mathematical tool is established on the definition of the term of the "instantenous" frequency and "instantenous" mark-space ratio (duty cycle) of the unipolar PWM signals.
