Artykuł zawiera wyniki analizy dokumentów miejskich ukazujących ewolucję i efekty podjętych przez władze miasta Lyon działań w procesie odnowy dzielnicy Confluence. Dzielnicy, która od 1995 r. jest teatrem dynamicznych przekształceń, w ramach którysh, obszar o powierzchni około 150 ha, będący wcześniej terenami produkcyjno-magazynowymi, stał się wizytówką miasta, wyposażony w miejsca pracy i zamieszkania, tereny wypoczynku, obiekty kultury i nauki. Przyczyniła się do tego na początku decyzja o realizacji pierwszej, spektakularnej koncepcji urbanistycznej, której autorami byli François Grether i Michel Desvigne, opierająca się na wyrazistym układzie kompozycyjnym wraz z ikonicznymi obiektami architektonicznymi. Z czasem, w kolejnych etapach, ewoluowała w kierunku rozwiązań polepszających jakość życia i adaptujących miasto do zmian klimatu. Co w końcu doprowadziło do przyznania jej certyfikatu zrównoważonej dzielnicy, jako pierwszej we Francji.

This article presents the results of an analysis of urban documents showing the evolution and effects of the action taken by the Lyon city authorities in the process of renewing the Confluence district. A district which, since 1995, has been the theatre of a dynamic transformation in which an area of around 150 hectares, formerly a production and warehousing area, has become a showcase for the city, equipped with places to work and live, leisure areas, cultural and scientific facilities. This was brought about at the outset by the decision to realise an initial, spectacular urban planning concept by François Grether and Michel Desvigne, based on a distinctive compositional layout together with iconic architectural buildings. Over time, in successive phases, it evolved into solutions to improve the quality of life and adapt the city to climate change. Which eventually led to it being certified as a sustainable neighbourhood, the first in France.
