Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie, w jakim zakresie przedsięwzięcia podejmowane przez miasta wdrażające koncepcję smart city uwzględniają potrzeby związane z zapewnieniem bezpieczeństwa. W związku z tym dokonano analizy pojęcia „inteligentne miasto”, także na tle miasta tradycyjnego oraz zrównoważonego. W dalszej kolejności zaprezentowane zostały wybrane przedsięwzięcia podejmowane w inteligentnych miastach na rzecz bezpieczeństwa.

The article aims to present the extent to which undertakings undertook by cities implementing the smart city concept take into account the needs related to ensuring safety. There was analyzed the concept of a smart city, also against the background of a traditional and sustainable city. Subsequently, selected projects undertaken in smart cities for the benefit of security were presented.
