Content available remote CuO as sintering additive to Sr0.4Ca0.6La4Ti5O17 ceramics

The effects of CuO addition on the sintering behavior and microwave dielectric properties of Sr0:4Ca0:6La4Ti5O17 ceramics were investigated. CuO was selected as a liquid phase sintering aid to lower the sintering temperature of Sr0:4Ca0:6La4Ti5O17 ceramics. With CuO addition, the sintering temperature of Sr0:4Ca0:6La4Ti5O17 ceramics was effectively reduced from 1550 °C to 1475 °C. The crystalline phase exhibited no phase difference and no second phase was detected at all addition levels. The electric permittivity was not significantly affected by various amounts of CuO addition and ranged from 52 to 54. Small values (<+7 ppm/K) of the temperature coeficient of resonant frequency were obtained for Sr0:4Ca0:6La4Ti5O17 ceramics. However, the unloaded quality factor Qu was strongly dependent upon the CuO concentration. Qu fo - 10500 GHz was obtained for Sr0:4Ca0:6La4Ti5O17 ceramics with 0.5 wt.% of CuO addition, sintered at 1475 °C.

This paper presents the results of individual laboratory tests conducted in the Research and Experiment Facility of the University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz, in particular of tests conducted on pastes of low water-binder ratios (from 0.2 to standard water demand (Mrozik 2012)). The purpose of this document is to examine the effect of the applied admixtures (plasticizer or superplasticizer) and its amount on the bulk density of a cement paste, thus on the compressive strength of concrete (as shown in the paper (Neville 2012), properties of concrete can be estimated on the basis of pastes). Conclusions concerning the suitability of specific amounts of plasticisers and superplasticizers were formulated and effectiveness curves were established on the basis thereof.

The new method for falling dust is to adding one kind of penetrative additive to the infusion water in order to improve the penetrative ability of water. The manufacturing process, characteristics, and application results of the rod-like penetrative additive (the penetrative rod) were discussed. The components and functions of the penetrative rode were studied carefully. Ultimately the components were decided after careful selection among molds, mainly including hygroscopic major components and auxiliary material. The result of on-site practical application show that such an addictive can increase the water penetrative ability effectively and has a remarkable effect on preventing dust production during coal seam excavation. The penetrating radius, the infusing velocity and the dust-preventive effect were systematically studied.

Content available remote Urea treatment of acrylic fibers in case of dyeing with anionic dyes

Anionic dyes can be used in dyeing of acrylic fibers with cationic nature (Creslan, Acrilan) or in case of acrylic fibers subjected to introduction of such basic groups into the polymer macromolecules by chemical treatments. In this paper are presented the possibilities of acrylic fibers dyeing with anionic dyes by pre-treatment, which lead to chemical structure modification. The samples treated with urea in addition with sodium hydroxide, hydrogen peroxide, ethylene carbonate (EC) and ethylene alcohol (EA) were further dyed with anionic dyes. A comparison was made between the colour intensity of acrylic samples pre-treated and dyed and that of acrylic fibers dyed without any chemical treatment. Experiments were made considering the influence of pre-treating time, urea concentration and additive concentration. Results obtained showed a good level of dyeing and high crocking and washing fastness.

Content available remote On some difference-delay equations arising in a problem of capital deposits

Introduction. We consider a real life problem: a. person has made a deposit of D0 dollars in bank B, which calculates interest on this deposit at in=100•in% after each n+l-st quarter and the interest is compounded at the end of each consecutive year since the deposit date, which means that the interest is capitalised yearly. In the case discussed the basic time unit is a quarter but the conversion period - the time interval at the end of which the interest is compounded - is four quarters (for the terminology see [3]). We ask the following question: what is the balance of the person after n time units, i.e. after n quarters? Such a question is important to people planning various sorts of investments or making arrangements with life insurance institutions. We cannot find an answer to this question in available literature. In particular, it is not to be found in recent books devoted to the subject [see 1-6]. We want to find general formulas that would allow us to express this balance by the other given quantities. Such formulas allow us to solve inverse problems consisting in finding the initial deposit Z)q , the interest rate i or the length of the period after which a capital reaches a given level. In this paper we give explicit formulas for the above-mentioned balance. They can be applied to the problems with any number of payments. At the end of this paper we give some examples of application of these formulas to solving the mentioned inverse problems. The obtained formulas make solving such problems easy. A straightforward application of backward recurrence formulas derived from formula (2), although possible, is quite troublesome.ct

In this note we will construct several additive Darboux-like functions f: R −> R answering some problems from (an earlier version of) [4]. In particular, in Section 2 we will construct, under different additional set theoretical assumptions, additive almost continuous (in sense of Stallings) functions f: R −> R whose graph is either meager or null in the plane. In Section 3 we will construct an additive almost continuous function f: R −>R which has the Cantor intermediate value property but is discontinuous on any perfect set. In particular, such an f does not have the strong Cantor intermediate value property.

We prove that the Covering Property Axiom CPAgame/prism, which holds in the iterated perfect set model, implies that there ex-ists an additive discontinuous almost continuous function f : R -> R whose graph is of measure zero. We also show that, under CPAgame/prism, there exists a Hamel basis H for which. E+(H), the set of all linear combinations of elements from H with positive rational coefficients, is of measure zero. The existence of both of these examples follows from Martin's axiom. while it is unknown whether either of them can be constructed in ZFC. As a tool for the constructions we will show that CPAgame/prism implies its seemingly stronger version, in which ω-many games are played simultaneously.

The novel fuel additive LiBH4 was introduced as an energetic component for its outstanding hydrogen content, perfect burning performance and high reactivity. In order to limit the hygroscopicity and to improve the stability in the air, LiBH4 was coated on the surface with wax and polyester carbonate. The final product was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron energy spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectroscopy, while the stability in air was investigated by regular checking of variations in weight. The results show that a uniform coating layer was formed on the surface of the LiBH4, and the coverage was estimated from the boron content as approximately 82%. A healing effect was confirmed on defective surfaces exposed to air; the coating layer improves the relative stability by 50.7%. Furthermore, LiBH4 as an additive to promote the thermal decomposition of 1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-trazinane (RDX) and ammonium perchlorate (AP) was explored by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), in which the catalytic effects of pure LiBH4 and coated LiBH4 were compared, and indicated that the coating does not decrease the reactivity of LiBH4. It is suggested that surface coating with some inert materials is a simple and effective method for improving the storage and performance of LiBH4, while ensuring its reactivity.

The objectives of this work were concentrated to investigate the enhancement of petrol distillate production from crude oil after treating with two additives. Attempts were also made to find out the mechanisms, those are responsible for enhancing the quantity and quality of petrol from crude oil by straight run refining process. From this study, it has been illustrated that the yield of petrol was directly proportional to the lubricating oil and inversely proportional to the bitumen asphalt content in the hydrocarbon mixture influenced by both physical and chemical reasons. The yield of petrol was increased ca. 4% (w/w) when 0.25% (w/w) additive-1 was used for blending before distillation. The physical properties of distillate petrol product were studied as well as the chemical quality was determined by TGA, 1H- NMR and GC-MS photometer.

This paper presents the results of research focused on the lowering of ash flow temperature at semianthracite coal from Donbas district by means of additive (calcite) dosing. Ash fusion temperatures were set for two coal samples (A, B) and for five various states (samples of ash without any additives, with 1%, with 3%, with 5% and with 7% of the additive) in total. The macroscopicphotographic method was used for identifying all specific temperatures. Obtained outputs prove that A type coal has a lower value of sphere temperature than B type coal in the whole scope of percentage representation of the additive. The flow temperature dropped in total from 1489 °C to 1280 °C, i.e. by 14% during the test of coal of type A with 7% of the additive; while it was near 10% for coal of type B (from 1450 °C to 1308 °C). Numerical simulations of the process showed that it is not effective to add an additive with a grain size lower than 280 μm by means of wastevapour burners.

Opisano próby zastosowania pewnych odmian olejów naftenowych jako substancji pomocniczych, w tym zmiękczających w przetwórstwie kompozycji PVC oraz TPE. W ramach omawianej pracy badawczej przeprowadzono m.in. próby sporządzania mieszanek (kompozycji), wytłaczania wyrobów z nich i wyniki badań określonych właściwości fizycznych. Przebadane zostały m.in. mieszanki obuwnicze z kuczuków termoplastycznych (TPE). Przedstawione zostały także specyfikacje techniczne trzech olejów naftenowych.

When solving certain problems connected with operation of kinematic pairs, data are often employed obtained at studying their tribological analogues, namely joints. Their exclusive reliability is attributed to almost unlimited adaptive capabilities of biological lubricant at nonstationary operation regimes. Adaptive changes in rheological parameters of hydrogel together with low dissipative mechanism of liquid crystal friction ensure optimal operation of biolubricant in any conditions. The present work cites the examples of the developed self-lubricating materials, coolants and drugs.

W pracy dokonano charakterystyki olejów napędowych ujętych w najnowszym wydaniu Światowej Karty Paliw. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono problemowi smarności olejów napędowych o niskiej zawartości siarki. Na tym tle przedstawiono krótki przegląd metod oceny smarności olejów napędowych oraz omówiono działanie estrów metylowych kwasów jako dodatków smarnościowych do olejów napędowych nowej generacji. Wskazano, że estry takie wprowadzone do oleju napędowego w ilości 1% podnoszą jego smarność do niezbędnego poziomu.

The paper contains a review of bibliographical data on low-sulphur diesel oil lubricity. The specification of fuel oils according to the latest issue of Fuel Charter has been presented. The methods of diesel oil lubricity assessment as well as fatty acid methyl ester lubricating activity have been reviewed shortly. It has been shown that these esters blended with diesel oil improve the poor lubricating properties of this fuel.
