W ostatnim czasie coraz większym zainteresowaniem w żywieniu zwierząt cieszą się naturalne produkty roślinne stosowane jako dodatki fitobiotyczne, a wśród nich zioła i produkty uzyskiwane na ich bazie w procesie ekstrakcji chemicznej. Stosowane dodatki w żywieniu zwierząt mogą poprawiać smak i zapach paszy, zwiększać jej pobranie, regulować funkcje trawienne, modyfikować mikroflorę przewodu pokarmowego, a w konsekwencji wpływać na zdrowie, przyrosty masy oraz zużycie paszy. Zwiększenie stabilności tych związków można uzyskać, stosując metody technologiczne i biotechnologiczne. Omówiono działanie przeciwbakteryjne, antyoksydacyjne oraz profilaktyczne zastosowania fitobiotyków u zwierząt gospodarskich.

The European Football Championship (Euro 2012) organized in Poland became the pretext for a number of infrastructural changes. A high level of expenditure makes the Polish event the most expensive among events of this magnitude. The fact that these changes were 100% financed by public funds raises the question of whether these funds were used in a substantiated way. Therefore, the aim of this study is to estimate the willingness-to-pay (WTP) among the community of the Pomeranian region, in connection with the construction of the stadium in Gdansk. A survey conducted among 299 respondents was the source of information. The results of the study show that the average value of WTP for the whole sample was 6.71 EUR2012, while the aggregate value for the whole region was 15.4 million EUR2012. The regression analysis showed that the level of WTP is determined in particular by income levels. The results thus confirm the existence of intangible benefits associated with the constructed facilities. However, it should be noted that the importance of these benefits is insignificant and does not compensate for the massive expenditure from public sources.

Card payments are getting more and more popular across the world. The dominant standard used for Electronic Funds Transfer transaction is EMV. It is widely used across Europeand Canada, and currently it is being introduced in the USA. The most frequently used Cardholder Verification Method in EMV transaction is PIN, which requires from the payment terminal to be equipped with pinpad - which increases the cost of the whole payment device. In this article I presentan alternative Cardholder Verification Method (CVM) that can be used instead of traditional PIN.The key advantage of the presented mechanism is that it can be easily implemented in currently utilized authorization protocols, it does not affect rules of EMV specification and may decrease time of transaction processing.

Celem artykułu było wskazanie możliwości odnośnie sposób zadawania pytań wyceniających, potencjalnych zalet i zagrożeń związanych z każdym podejściem oraz bieżących zaleceń literaturowych w tym zakresie.

The paper reviews the methodological aspects of contingent valuation of environmental goods and services. The valuation question format is the main issue of the questionnaire method of eliciting respondents’ preferences. The discussed elicitation methods are categorized in two dimensions: one – whether the actual maximum WTP for the good in question is obtained; and two – whether a single WTP question or an iterated series of questions is asked. Properties of the different elicitation methods follow directly from the two dimensions of typology. Issues involved in the use of particular elicitation methods are presented by examining five of the principle methods: the open question, the bidding game, the payment card, the take-it-or-leave-it offer, and the take-it-or-leave-it offer with follow-up approaches. The advantages and drawbacks of every elicitation format are presented along with applicability recommendations.
