Calcareous nannofossils from Paleocene sediments of two boreholes (Odeska-6 and Odeska-20) of the North-Western Shelf of the Black Sea were examined. Five nannofossil zones of Martini (1970), Okada & Bukry (1980) and Quillevere et al. (2002) were identified: combined Cruciplacolithus tenuis — Chiasmolithus danicus (NP2-NP3/CPlb-CP2), Sphenoli- thus primus? (NP4b), Fasciculithus tympaniformis (NPS/CP4), Heliolithuis kleinpelli (NP6/CPS) and HelioZithus riedelii (NP/CP7). The biozonation allowed us to correlate the distinguished nannozones with the Bilokamian and Kachian Stages of the Stratigraphic Scheme of Southern Ukraine (1993). The presence of two unconformities is suggested within: the Bilokamian and Kachian Stage. The first one corresponds to the upper part of the nannozone Chiasmolithus danicus (NP3) and Ellipsolithus macellus (NP4a) and is estimated up to 1.94 Ma years.
