On the basis of experiences of last 25 years offunctioning of euroregions in the Polish borderland, It is worth considering the alternative of overtaking of their role by local government units of all levels of administration and by other cross-border cooperation organizations. On stage of achieved high developed cross-border contacts, the intermediary function that is played by euroregions become questionable.
