A brief description of photoemission measurements of α-Pu and (5-Pu is given. Results indicate 6d-5f hybridization and a lack of a temperature dependence of the sharp peaks at the Fermi level. Laser ablation is shown to be the best method of Pu surface cleaning in vacuum. Work function values are measured for the first time and compared with theoretical predictions.
