This article presents the problem of emission of dust and gases in both the metallurgical production cycle of iron and steel, as well as with regard to manufacture of coke. The figures include the minimum and maximum amounts of particulate dust and gas emissions generated by the domestic iron and steel industry, as well as the European Union. The results of the emission of dust and gases in one of the Swedish metallurgical plant, with known high standards for the protection of the environment, are presented, too.

W artykule przedstawiono problematykę wielkości emisji pyłów i gazów zarówno w metalurgicznym cyklu produkcyjnym żelaza i stali, jak i z uwzględnieniem wytwarzania koksu. Dane obejmują minimalne i maksymalne ilości emisji pyłu i gazów generowanych przez krajowy przemysł żelaza i stali, jak też na obszarze Unii Europejskiej. Przedstawiono także wyniki emisji pyłów i gazów w jednej z hut szwedzkich, znanych z wysokich standardów w dziedzinie ochrony środowiska.
