In this paper, we consider the design of interconnected H infinity feedback control systems with quantized signals. We assume that a decentralized dynamic output feedback has been designed for an interconnected continuous-time LTI system so that the closed-loop system is stable and a desired H infinity disturbance attenuation level is achieved, and that the subsystem measurement outputs are quantized before they are passed to the local controllers. We propose a local-output-dependent strategy for updating the parameters of the quantizers, so that the overall closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and achieves the same H infinity disturbance attenuation level. Both the pre-designed controllers and the parameters of the quantizers are constructed in a decentralized manner, depending on local measurement outputs.

Purpose: Today we face a demands always quickly varied market. For the machine tools manufacturers, reducing the development cycle of a product to be modified is much meaningful, and meanwhile, they have to improve (at least keep) the new machines performance. Consequently, an assistant-software has a certain degree of intelligent ability will have more advantages to improve the design quality and short design cycle simultaneously. Design/methodology/approach: The development of machine tools is a typical work of a distributed cooperative process supported by CAX. MAS (Multi-Agent system) is now the mainstream of contemporary studies on distributed intelligent software system, and can provide a foundation for the establishment of such system. Findings: In this paper, a MAS-based agile collaborative development system for MC (Machining Center) was set up using JADE (Java Agent DEvelopment framework). The whole system was divided into several functional modules that can carry out its typical mission. By taking the intelligent collaborative design module as an example, the configuration of Agents society was expatiated particularly. This module can provide intellectualized conceptual design help for MC designers. Research limitations/implications: Whereas, the other modules of this system have not been established, so in order to make it more perfect, some interfaces are left for the next expansion of other modules. Practical implications: A development process supported by this system for a customer ordered MC is taken to execute the prototype case study. According to the customer order information, three feasible proposals that have the greatest similarity are presented by the intelligent reasoning of CADDesignerAgents. By performing the parametric design and intelligent optimization, 3D dynamic MC model which is the customer satisfied is proposed and shown. Originality/value: The platform supported with those intelligent abilities has shown that it is a powerful tool on the MC family design for shorten the development cycle and improve the design quality.

Background: Osteoarthritis is characterized by the continuous degradation of the articular cartilage. The microRNA miR-448 has been found to be broadly involved in cellular processes, including proliferation, apoptosis, invasion and EMT. While aberrant expression of miR-448 has been found in multiple cancers, its level in osteoarthritis cartilage and its role in the progression of this disease are still unknown. Here, we examined the functional roles of miR-448 and its expression in osteoarthritis tissues, including IL-1β-stimulated osteoarthritis chondrocytes. Methods: Chondrocytes were isolated from human articular cartilage and stimulated with IL-1β. The expression levels of miR-448 in the cartilage and chondrocytes were both determined. After transfection with an miR-448 mimic or inhibitor, the mRNA levels of aggrecan, type II collagen and MMP-13 were determined. Luciferase reporter assay, qRT-PCR and western blot were performed to explore whether matrilin-3 was a target of miR-448. Furthermore, we co-transfected chondrocytes with miR-448 inhibitor and siRNA for matrilin-3 and then stimulated them with IL-1β to determine whether miR-448-mediated IL-1β-induced cartilage matrix degradation resulted from directly targeting matrilin-3. Results: The level of miR-448 was significantly higher and matrilin-3 expression was significantly lower in osteoarthritis cartilage and IL-1β-induced chondrocytes than in normal tissues and cells. Furthermore, matrilin-3 expression was reduced by miR-448 overexpression. MiR-448 downregulation significantly alleviated the IL-1β-induced downregulation of aggrecan and type II collagen expression, and upregulation of MMP-13 expression. MiR-448 overexpression had the opposite effects. Knockdown of matrilin-3 reversed the effects of the miR-448 inhibitor on the expressions of aggrecan, type II collagen and MMP-13. Conclusion: The findings showed that miR-448 contributed to the progression of osteoarthritis by directly targeting matrilin-3. This indicates that it has potential as a therapeutic target for the treatment of osteoarthritis.

In general, there are two main types of failure observed in solid riveted joints: tensile failure and shear failure. To study these phenomena, four sizes of riveted joints are utilized to do the riveting, tension and shear process. Meanwhile, corresponding FEM models are built in Forge 2009 to simulate each process for these joints. In the simulations, Bauschinger Effect of the rivet material is taken into account to obtain more accurate simulation results. Based on Oyane and Cockcroft & Latham damage criteria, a new damage model in which the first principal stress and hydrostatic pressure are both considered is proposed to predict the fracture initiation and growth in the tension and shear process of riveted joints. The results from the simulations are in quite good agreement as compared with those from the experiments.

Ogólnie obserwuje się dwa rodzaje zniszczenia połączeń nitowanych: przez zerwanie w wyniku rozciągania i przez ścinanie. W celu zbadania tych mechanizmów cztery połączenia o różnych rozmiarach poddano procesom rozciągania i ścinania.

Gastric microbiota provides a biological barrier against the invasion of foreign pathogens from the oral cavity, playing a vital role in main-taining gastrointestinal health. Klebsiella spp. of oral origin causes various infections not only in gastrointestinal tract but also in other organs, with Klebsiella pneumoniae serotype K1 resulting in a liver abscess (KLA) through oral inoculation in mice. However, the relationship between gastric microbiota and the extra-gastrointestinal KLA infection is not clear. In our study, a 454 pyrosequencing analysis of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene shows that the composition of gastric mucosal microbiota in mice with or without KLA infection varies greatly after oral inoculation with K. pneumoniae serotype K1 isolate. Interestingly, only several bacteria taxa show a significant change in gastric mucosal microbiota of KLA mice, including the decreased abundance of Bacteroides, Alisptipes and increased abundance of Streptococcus. It is worth noting that the abundance of Klebsiella exhibits an obvious increase in KLA mice, which might be closely related to KLA infection. At the same time, the endogenous antibiotics, defensins, involved in the regulation of the bacterial microbiota also show an increase in stomach and intestine. All these findings indicate that liver abscess caused by K. pneumoniae oral inoculation has a close relationship with gastric microbiota, which might provide important information for future clinical treatment.

In this research work, thermal properties of plain woven fabrics generated from regenerated bamboo and cotton fiber blended yarns were investigated. Seven mixtures of fiber (100% bamboo, 100% cotton, 10:90 bamboo: cotton, 20:80 bamboo: cotton, 30:70 bamboo: cotton, 40:60 bamboo: cotton and 50:50 bamboo: cotton) were developed to create 60 Tex ring spun yarn. The warp yarns were used as 100% regenerated bamboo and the bamboo: cotton blends were used alternatively in weft to produce plain woven fabrics. The plain structured woven fabrics show eminent thermal comfort properties with the blending of regenerated bamboo fibers. The air permeability of 100% regenerated bamboo fiber was recorded higher than the compared blends; the increased key factor contents of bamboo changed the air properties of the fabric. Furthermore, plain woven fabric of bamboo/cotton (50/50) has shown greater thermal conductivity and heat retention properties. The work reported in this paper is ensuring highpoints of thermal comfort properties of regenerated bamboo (100%) and cotton (100%) with plain woven structured fabrics, and potentially, the fabrics can be used for winter suiting apparel products.
