The analysis of infilled frames is complex due to the non-linearity involved as well as the large number of variables. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) has been found to be a tool that can accommodate the large number of variables and the nonlinear behaviour of the system. The ANN model was trained using the data available on failure load for the infilled frame under various conditions, generated analytically using equivalent strut method. The so trained model was tested for different set of input and output data obtained analytically as well as experimentally [10]. The agreement between the predicted and the actual results are found to be good. The results show that if the data for training is sufficient, the performance of the network will be satisfactory. The neural network approach is versatile since the size and scope of the input and output vectors can be increased to a large extent to meet the complexities.

Analiza wypełnianych ścianami konstrukcji ramownicowych jest skomplikowana z powodu ich nieliniowości, jak również dużej liczby zmiennych. Sztuczna sieć neuronowa (ANN) stworzona została jako narzędzie, które może objąć wielką liczbę zmiennych oraz nieliniowe zachowanie się układu. Model ANN został nauczony przy użyciu dostępnych danych o obciążeniu niszczącym wypełnionej ramownicy w różnych warunkach opisanych analitycznie za pomocą równoważnych prętów. Zastosowany w ten sposób model zbadany został w różnych zestawach danych wejściowych i wyjściowych otrzymanych analitycznie oraz doświadczalnie [10]. Stwierdzono dobra zgodność pomiędzy wynikami przewidywanymi i uzyskanymi. Wyniki wskazują, że jeśli dane dotyczące badania są wystarczające, to funkcjonowanie sieci będzie zadawalające. Metoda sieci neuronowych jest uniwersalna, bowiem można znacznie zwiększać wielkość i zakres wektora wejściowego i wyjściowego w zależności od stopnia skomplikowania.

The combined effect of reinforcements on Aluminium Metal Matrix composites with individual and multiple particulate reinforcements like Hybrid Metal matrix composites are finding increased applications in aerospace, automobile, space, underwater, and transportation applications. This is mainly due to improved mechanical and tribological properties like strength, stiffness, abrasion, impact resistance and wear resistance. In the present scenario, a lot of research activities were on pipe line. This paper guides the researchers and engineers towards proper selection of materials by their properties in the relevant field and different techniques involved in manufacturing of metal matrix composites, particularly on the liquid state metal processing technique.
