The article deals with the dialogue between two artists Dmytro Pavlychko and Yaroslav Ivashkevych primarily at the level of contact-genetical connections between them through criticism and translation, personal relationships. Dmytro Pavlychko translated more than 120 poems written by Yaroslav Ivashkevych and wrote a number of articles about his oeuvre (“Novels by Yaroslav Ivashkevych”, “Uraniya is his sister and muse”, “Yaroslav Ivashkevych and Ukraine”). The image of Ukraine is demonstrated in the works of Yaroslav Ivashkevych from early poetry and prose to the latest collections and his Ukrainian myth that comes from the “Ukrainian school” of Polish romanticism.
