The paper provides an overview and description of the Chinese economy in recent decades, taking into account the specifics of China’s economic policy. The business activity of one of the most successful transnational Chinese company – Lenovo – was investigated in the paper. The article presents and analyzes the main business strategies that helped Lenovo to win in a short time competitive positions in the market of electronic equipment, gadgets and software products, not only on the national, but also on the world market. Particular attention in the study is given to the analysis of the company’s financial performance by business groups and geographical units; the main indicators of the financial effectiveness of the company’s business strategies; the effectiveness of the company’s use of production resources is illustrated. Also, the paper analyzes the composition and elements of the global value chain formed by the company to realize competitive advantages and retain competitive positions in the world market.

The modern enterprise, which represents aggregate interests of many stakeholders forces, do operates on competitive markets, and in close interdependence of activities and interests with contractors, customers, suppliers, intermediaries, competitors and others. To achieve sustainable competitive advantage businesses it is needed to develop a successful business model for a particular time, particular market and environment. The dynamics of the latter do requires an enterprise to take timely and unique kind of decision related to business model on a market. The paper discusses theoretical foundations of the process of business modeling and the main components that form the production capacity of enterprises. The process of business modeling is described as a continuous and ongoing process that requires detailed knowledge and understanding of business, strategic thinking to use challenges of the future, bring business to success and prosperity. The paper underlines that the continued use of inefficient business models and the failure to identify, slow transition to it can cause many domestic companies to significant financial losses and even to bankruptcy. In order to construct a clear business model it is needed to determine proper depth of process decomposition complexity and level of details, and in order to get a complete picture of a business process, it is needed to make atomic decomposition of business functions.

The article systematizes and analyses the latest trends in the market of innovative activity of venture enterprises. An analysis of the role of Ukrainian entrepreneurs-innovators in the development of this form of entrepreneurship in the light of the formation of the "green economy" is conducted. The tendencies of development of venture investments in 2013–2016 are revealed. The role of small and large enterprises in the development of venture business in Ukraine and abroad is analysed. The main trends of innovative development in the Ukrainian economy towards the green economy are determined. The advantages and disadvantages in the development of this direction for the Ukrainian economy are shown. The main further ways of innovative development in the modern economy have been identified. Among them: spread of intelligence in cloud technologies, self-managing systems, the security of the Internet of Things, customer centricity, sharing economy, API economy.
